There are so many times people want to buy something expensive, like sunglasses, but feel guilty because they've already spent so much that day. But, they haven't spend that much TOMORROW yet and you don't feel bad about buying it that day, but don't feel like going back to the store. You basically get the chance to get another impulse buy out of that customer with online shopping for something they've already tried on. It's really clever.
@kaitlyne18705 жыл бұрын
@Ali Abdul Rehman true, lots of people have once a month experiences (phone bill, mortgage/rent, etc.) but get paid every week or two. Most people I know will buy things with the extra money in between the weeks when those bills are due, but hold onto extra money when paying that bill, in case something comes up. I'm not saying that's good money management, but, then again, neither is buying something you want but don't need because you already have 5 other pair of sunglasses. Also, businesses don't care if you manage your money well, as long as they are getting the money you spend. There are a LOT of products sold that encourage bad spending habits just by being completely unnecessary, that the people on these shows invest in because it will make them money.

"If stores had these they'd risk losing sales to people who try things on and don't buy them"??? If stores didn't have these they WOULD BE losing sale to people who try things on and don't buy them. With this you can link directly to their website instead of Amazon or a competitor, guaranteeing them a sale, even if the customer has not left the store with the item in hand. The idea that they would be losing sales to this thing is ridiculous because they'd have the same amount of in-store sales, they wouldn't even be losing those who do decide to purchase, and gaining online sales. It's a net gain here, there is no loss. Say 50 people enter a store and 10 end up buying something. They just lost a potential 4/5ths of potential customers. If 50 people enter a store and 10 end up buying something, then 10 more decide to buy what they tried earlier online, they lost 3/5ths of potential customers and have increased sales for that day 2x over. So how the fuck are they losing money by investing in this??

What if there are better deals online, on Amazon. In physical retail, you just wouldn’t want customers to check for better deals online. You could definitely gather a significant amount of data, the sales conversion part is dicey however.

@@TheRealCraya with this, retailers have the ability to control exactly where customers make their purchase. They can link directly to their product page on their own ecomm platform. The data this can collect is a marketer's wet dream, every shark should have been jumping to invest.

I think their reasoning for saying that is basically this technology targets customers who are on the fence about a certain item, and in a way may possibly push them to decide "Nevermind, I won't get it right now because I can just get it later if I want to" which sort of takes out the impulse of shopping around. But I think they underestimate, with being reminded of these items and seeing photos of yourself with these items, how likely it is to push you to purchase the item. You know it fits/looks good, you don't have to go back to the store to get it, it's as easy as just being like "yeah sure might as well" since you've already done the "hard" part of trying it all on or having to look for it on the website and deciding which size will fit you best, etc.

Same! I'm constantly taking pictures of items I like and want but can't decide at the moment. I look up the items later on my laptop and buy it online if I truly want it. This would save me the trouble

If you watching Hugh, i thibk you are on to something. I bought the sunglasses 3.5 years after i tried them on first. After i tried and took a selfie i kept looking at it and realised it looks really nice. It was hard but i hunted it down from a different country. I was able to do this because i had called the sunglasshut where i had origibally tried them and got the reference number on the same day. Bless my wits for doing that or i may have never found it.

Wow, for top business people most of them have no idea how effective this is and how good it is. As a customer this would get me buying a lot more.

Honestly, this product is GENIUS! Every time I’ve gone to a store, there’s always been stuff where I’m on the edge of getting, so I’ll go home and think about it. Usually, I end up getting it a week later, but it would be much better if I could just find it online from home

Hi mate, I would add a feature which would notify a user that an item went on sale had he shown interest but did not buy it. Great application, all the best!

As a software engineer and into marketing, this is the best way to get back your customer that you’ve lost in the store. Plus, you could use that data for analytics in to all of your businesses.

Naomi really fits on this one. Though I am expecting it to be 40%, he won at 33%. That is so awesome. You can see how all the stress leave his body on limp. He might even expect to have it counter offer but naomi just accept it. Again, amazing

All of the 4 were dumb! This is a great idea! She said why not a selfie because a selfie is not going to send a price tag along with the pic to your email reminding you that you just left an amazing pair of glasses and a very cheap price which may look amazing on you still in the store to be sold to someone else! Its brilliant! Your helping the retailers out a bit to where retailers will have a smaller inventory to put on sale! Retailers are forced to put items on sale do to over stock! Makes sense to me.

Naomi, you are not just having a happy day, I don’t get why the other sharks didn’t get it either 😂 you are just too smart for them 🤣

Man he didn't expand enough on the role that data can play for those companies. As an engineer and programmer, I love this idea and think it would be a great dataset for retailers. They know exactly what is failing and succeeding with different demographics. Could do without the RFID tags with some simple machine learning on the products, and then machine learning to gather demographic data.

This is a good idea. I've gone to shops plenty of times n left stuff for later. How many times have you hid an item you want behind some jeans lol

I love how every single shark degrades the entrepreneur in some way before giving an offer for their business to make them question themselves so the shark can get more for less.

Selling tbe customer databases alone is a cash cow.
@jakelevy36495 жыл бұрын
A little bit more complicated then it needs to be. There should just be QR codes on each product and he should just develop an app to take photos of the QR code on the product and adds it to a cart. He receieves a commission through every sale made through his app. No need for that camera booth shit and maintains the same basic idea and customer data. Plus everyone has a phone, it would be adopted more.

I literally only go to stores to try stuff on and send pictures to my friends to ask if they like it, then I go on the internet and find the best deal on the internet (rarely ever is it cheaper in store) - perfect solution to both consumers and businesses, wish I came up with it!

Make a booth out of it, put a green screen in the back, have some people snap a few shots and share them on social media - boom, you have a way to reach a new customer who is already interested in your product and you can serve marketing to them till they buy something, even if it's not the product they were trying. This is an awesome platform for customer acquisition that offers interactivity like nothing I've seen before. Wish I had the opportunity to invest in something like that.

This is genius. As someone who works in retail I can say that this would be amazing, we have wishlists but this would be next level. If only I didn’t work for a major corporation I’d love to get this in my store!

This product is genius and fantastic! Will increase the customer experience, how many times we quickly try something and forget to get the code and then struggle to find it back to buy it, I wish i can try this in store here in the UK is amazing! Well done

I think that they should be in! I think Amazon already do this with their follow up strategy to give a follow up message ,here are some other items that people who perchased the may also want to buy, meaning that they have a database of potential buyers.

Naomi is really smart, she understood retailers can remarket customers using their emails. Surprised others were negative about it.
@rhuarkk21385 жыл бұрын
This is ultimately going to lead to people going and trying a bunch of things, posting it all on social media and going home to wait for likes, the highest liked items is what they will buy. This could lead to a new norm of shopping.

He's just given retailers the power that makes Amazon, Google, and Facebook so powerful at what they do. Retailer can now just follow their customers around indefinitely until they buy the product. It's weird that the other investors didn't see that. There is of course the trust issue with the device that they will have to work on. I don't know how many people will be comfortable with taking pictures through a black-box type device. But that's about changing perception
@KabbaModern034 жыл бұрын
He’ll have to think about conversion rate with retail stores. I had to do KPI reporting at Nike, and when people walk in and walk out with nothing, it hurts the store.

Steve is right, people are becoming more & more aware of the data harvesting from tech companies and many people don't like that & rightfully so. It's a really cool concept though.
@tonyocean85515 жыл бұрын
The idea is clever! The question in my mind is: Should we use this app that enhances consumerism? It's not an offensive perspective, just the thought that it might make you buy something you don't really need.
@lisaparrey13434 жыл бұрын
that is from the customer perspective, you need to look at it from the retailer perspective. They want to sell, that's their income.

One thing I can say is people are not impulse buying anymore they are doing their research. Also some people walk into the store and they don’t get paid tell Friday. And it’s Wednesday well Friday the can either go back or go to their email and purchase way smart.
