I'm looking forward to Parts 3-17....bringing the canoe back ;) Seriously though, your enthusiasm and character shines through in every episode. I've been following along quietly for a very long time, recommended other YT'ers here in the UK to watch you. You should be, and probably are an inspiration to people of our age group to 'get outside, and get happy'. Good for you Brooke, long may you continue.

The first thought your dog had when you put your new board in the lake was "OK, Mom, now where do I fit?" My Shih Tzus loved to float around our swimming pool on floats. Dogs sometimes seriously love to sail. I had to be careful--a Great Horned Owl would soar over our heads when we'd go for a midnight swim. I had to put them inside or have them close next to me on the edge of the raised spa or else floating with me as I pushed them around the pool. They loved it--had to watch that they didn't try to leap aboard--or off when they grew bored, and sink from the weight of wet fur! They aren't exactly ballerinas in the air. They could push those floats far away from where they'd land. They preferred to wait for their motor (me) to put them ashore... I love your dogs and their relationships with you and your husband! They are happy dogs!

I've always found it easier to paddle a large canoe solo by sitting backwards in the bow - so you are closer to the center.

Thanks for the link to beavercraft! I whittled a double barrel shotgun one time for my son when he was 3 years old. I was off in the woods, just chilling and I think I just got lucky with the wood and an Uncle Henry knife and lots of time. But the tools they have at beavercraft are so much more precision tools! After we got home, my son showed off his little double barrel shotgun and before I knew it, all the boys in the neighborhood were showing up with sticks asking me to make them "one". Pretty funny. Your rooster turned out great! About the canoe that attempted to kill you: just gotta say, you are SUPER WOMAN! Heat, bugs, broken wheels and all, you amaze me. I would have been all "I'm going home". Your perseverance is a real inspiration, Brooke.

Watching you drag that canoe was not fun. The thought of you making a video like that for us to watch is pure dedication. Set up the camera. Walk away dragging it and the having to turn around and walk back to retrieve your camera. Then walk back up to the canoe and reset everything backup while fighting off a hoard of vipers. Anyone who dislike a video like this should try it themselves. Atta girl. 👍👍 P.S.The rooster carving is awesome

Check out the Sea Eagle TC16 “Travel Canoe” and let me know if you’d use it. It will fit two adults and Daisy for sure and is a lot easier to haul around. I can ship it back there if you want it. It was in the tender garage of a boat I bought and I’ll never use it. Daisy is such cool & smart dog. I’m out off San Miguel of the Channel Islands now getting away from all the non sense in Cali right now and I have to watch my dog because he likes to jump off the boat anytime he see’s seals, dolphins, birds or anything else including his own reflection. Cool rooster!
