It seems that (not just the auto industry) that once a company has your money warranties are next to worthless. I've had similar issues with 'home owners' warranties. Insurance agencies play a similar game where once you have your premium they will cut any corners they can to avoid paying out claims. Certain types of insurance is unavoidable to have to purchase but in general if you can avoid it on products known to depreciate you'll be better off.

Bought a 'certified pre-owned' pickup truck from my local dealer. Four years old, 38,000 miles. Got home with it, did my own checkup of all the fluids, etc.etc. Checked the brake fluid reservoir.....it was EMPTY. On the way home, I noticed the brakes were a little spongey, and I found out why. Took it right back to the dealer. They topped off the brake fluid, told me they looked for leaks but found none, and sent me on my way. just means the FACTORY warrantiy is validated IMO purely from a buying standpoint. You the would be 5/7 year etc + miles on powertrain reattained via any manufacturer/certified p/o vehicles. OFC still locked to manufactured/year opposed to date of purchase for any perspective buyer. IMO when its the difference of a coupe thouseand...its largely worth it to anyone buying/interested in buying a "luxury" car brand...bc the warranty/maintenence is already costly and ANY issue within a small window of ownership post/assembly LINE IMO should definitely be rectified by manufacturer. Sure its already pretty dumb to run a factory turbo/luxury car bc of future oil/gasket issues as many display. But imagine getting a non pre-ownedcertified bmw/audi/vw and it craps out within 5 years of coming off the line....and the second owner is now UBER screwed vs buying a potentially 2-3000$ more expensive "certified" option that they can now leverage the dealership over via manufacturer warranty....to anyone else..esp when buying a PROVEN platform...certified is pretty much a waste of $$$ unless the owner isnt maintenence inclined potentially a woman with all respect to that regard...or say your daughter thats a student out of state etc that needs to work/have a car. If pppl think certfied means "new" thats a mental error of semantics at that point and even worse if the delearship is taking advantage of someones dimwitted outlook of SURELY everything i spend my money on is good for ME if it sounds like it XD. STILL given the CVT cycle/market id consider a CPO honda etc brand even just bc some CVT crap out pretty early into lifetime as well....as turbo leaks/gasket/oil issues even with their line of 1.5-2.0turbos.

Scotty need to correct you on the train power system, a train today is diesel/electric. There is a large diesel motor which powers a huge generator and the train also has 2 battery banks. When one battery draws down to a certain capacity, the second battery bank kicks in and the diesel generator charges the 1st battery bank. This continues back and forth, that is why when people see diesel exhaust they assume it is a diesel powered train, it is not. They Edison semi built by a Canadian logger runs on the diesel/electric train system.

1:30 I bought an extended three year warranty on a 1998 Chrysler. A year later my alternator went out and they not only refused the claim because it was listed as an electrical problem, not mechanical, but then charged me for the visit and to reinstall the alternator that I had not yet given them permission to replace. I had to charge it on a credit card to get my car back from the dealer. Luckily my credit card was stolen the next day and I didn't have to pay it. Warranties are a rip off!!

The worst warranties advertised today is from Kia and Hyundai. The 10 year 100k mile warranty is a joke. Very few have benefited from this, with majority of Kia and Hyundai owners stuck with thousands of dollars in repair costs the manufacturer refuses to correct.

I keep seen Kias and hyundais having motor issues. Specially on the burning oil cresting sludge department. If I was a Korean car owner I would be changing oil every 3k miles. Don't go by what the manual says the manual is there to make sure you fail and keep the parts department liquid. My wifes mercedes says change oil every 10k miles so I do 5k. I see the manual and cut it in half. My mercedes is about to touch 200k next year. No issues.

Nissan used to built decent cars and trucks. It all started going downhill around 2012 or later. Now, they are good for maybe 100,000km before major repairs are required. Mazda is a good buy these days. Kia and Hyundai have gone to the dogs and all the "prestige" cars fall apart after 50-70km. Y neighbour's used Porsche Macan (2021) is in the garage again for a brake job. It's 400+ for an oil change how much is the brake job?

300 kilograms of hydrogen per day is quite alotta hydrogen . . Say it was in liquid form , then one litre of it would be 8.5% the mass of one litre of water and likely 10% the mass of a litre of petrol . So then 12 kilograms of hydrogen would be the same volume as a 120 kilograms of petrol . It's energy content would also be greater . But you can't have liquid hydrogen if you're going to be practical. Of course it follows that 300 kilos of hydrogen is same volume as 3000 kilos of petrol and 3000 kilos of petrol is say around 3400 to 3600 litres ,, gotta check on actual density,, . . It's liquid hydrogen though at cryogenic temperatures, so it won't be a thing except for rocket launches. Maybe as a hydride such as graphitic nitride hydride at manageable pressure the hydrogen can be stored at 10% effective volume in a tank with ¼ inch thick walls. Conversion efficiency to electricity via fuel cell is better than 90% and the electric motors are also around 90% efficient . I'm liking those figures.

My father brand new car 1976 Chevy Impala was delivery without oil plug for differential and we paid $445.00 dealer prep at the dealer and they promised a full hub cap and gave us a cheap junk cap. When we asked for the promised hub cap the dealer want us to pay $44.00 six week later. The delivery dealer prep was washing car, and all fluid level are filled and checked by mechanic at the dealer.

For sure China can't build a properly good reliable normally aspirated engine as the Japanese, so they went the battery route, but it seems they don't do long term tests for parts especially the underbody like chassis, suspension parts. Saw some videos they use low grade metals on some of these vehicles.
