I dearly LOVE how yall let the kids ride in the back of the truck & took the backroads so they could enjoy the ride back there. And the small rain to bless them. Such fun!

Love the way Scarlett was right in there helping and learning through the whole process, even with the tractor. You're so right, Mel, it's the little pleasures that stick with you through the years. Some of my fondest memories are summer days spent on some family members farm. Making our own fun out of simple adventures when the chores were done.

I love seeing how much your kids have grown especially the oldest. Your barn is so sweet for the goats and they are spoiled alredy. So happy they have each other for compaionship. Its truly a wonderful beginning for them.

Mel and Gary I loved the video. The goats are so cute they will be a great addition to the 41.36. The ride home from C'mon mountain brought back lots of memories of riding in the back of the pick up, your right it's the little things we remember. Have a blessed day with lots of love from your crazy friend in ohio

This is great. I know the goats will take care of all those weeds. I'm glad they had the kids to keep them calm riding home. They have a nice barn to keep them safe from bears. I did see where snakes could get in at the corner! I hope that won't be happening. You will have so much fun with them. The kids will love them.

I raised purebred Nubian goats for a long time when I lived in the country. She gave just a little less than a gallon of milk a day. It was really some of the best milk I have ever had. She had 2 kids every year and I sold them because I am only one person and not good at butchering. PS. I did not keep a buck but if you get a buck, you can keep him from smelling when the doe is in heat by wiping his head with a wet warm washcloth. Also make sure they have a salt block to lick. I had to use the salt block that had selenium in it because the soil in the northwest has no selenium in it and the goats need it. Check with the Agriculture department on that.

Please remember that goats are social animals and shouldn't really be left alone! Also wondering if you have looked into getting a couple of pigs so you can get fresh pork products eg bacon, sausages, chops, legs of gammon etc? Because it tastes far more superior to shop purchased!😊

Hi My dear Mel, listening to how distrought you are because of the awful negative comments. Listen up now if you allow these AS to get to you, you will be empowering them. It is easy for me to say ignore them , but if you can do. Don't even acknowledge that you see them. Block them and TRY TRY TRY to protraitthe beauty that is within. You and Gary are just fine, doing what you do with great aplum. You have a great family obviously your love for each other is real. Many of the naesayers don't have that. Stay strong and stay blessed.

I dont know if it will help, but k&s get out on youtube use electric wire and did a video putting it up a couple years ago and its worked keeping their rambunctious goats and their LGD in so may help you see what worked for them? They are sponsored by gallagher i believe. They are using a premier 1 fence as a temp fence to give them extra space while their "pen" was swampy, but goatville is just electric wire fencing I think if i remember right, they use metal t posts for the majority of it, with the electric fence clips that clip on to the t posts.... does mean pounding into the ground but theyre really secure. X x

Would you consider wood tree branch posts set equal distance apart the same as fencing panels use nail on plastic insulators for the electric line on inside then when you add the fence panels to the out side of the posts.
