I’ve had mine since January. I love it. It put the fun back in driving. Unbelievably my wife who normally could care less fights me to drive it. She really loves it. After 49 years of marriage she actually asked me at nighttime to let’s go out with it and just take a drive just for fun. That hasn’t happened since we first got married. Most reviewers underestimate the fun and safety of one pedal driving. We have a simple level 2 charger at home and charging is very easy and not an issue. Love driving past gas stations too. No more time wasted with that and oil changes. First real factory maintenance is not till 100 thousand miles. Fantastic car. Highly recommend it.

Excellent Review, Sir! Awaiting arrival of our Bolt EV. To any buyers concerned about LG Energy Solutions Batts - a couple of things: There were VERY FEW fires, and (of course) the MSM always screams negative EV news, guaranteed. The problem with the LG cells were from a defective Anode, which had to be in the same cell with a “folded insulator” - both conditions contemporaneously necessary to cause the problem. After the $$$ spent by both GM & LG to correct the issue, for ME, after long research. . .I bought a ‘23 Model, and have ZERO concerns, but. . .YRMV. Can any sane person think that the future for transportation is ALL ELECTRIC? When a thing is gonna BE, get used-to it FAST.

Howdy, meant to put a “Laugh emoji” 👉🏿🤣, after the penultimate sentence! Obviously, the future IS ELECTRIC. Also, readers can do YT RESEARCH on the PROCESS that the GM Dealers must go through to get ANY GM Vehicle, including Bolts. Yes, the “dreaded” ALLOTMENT is part of it, and “it ain’t their fault.” A New Bolt is worth the wait. Knowledge will foster patience, understanding, and the delicious anticipation of a NEW RIDE! A Strike at the Orion plant “may” not happen, as the UAW well-knows that GM loses money on EVERY BOLT THEY SELL, so this advances their cause? ? ? 😬 Even with possible delays in build, pretty sure they will fulfill all orders placed before the deadline. The Chevron must survive. ☺️🎉

It easily carries all our winter potatoes and root vegetables from the farm, copper pipe, 2x4,s, etc. and once I got a 350 lb. granite surface plate for my shop from 75 mile away without any problems and I charge from home on our paid off PV, the small battery is great for that! Reviewers go on about fast charging, I don't care, every morning I get to drive 250 mile if I ever need too but I rarely do. So is the Bolt perfect? This Bolt should have enough range for your uses, but you'd need somewhere that you can recharge it quickly once you get home so that it is fully charged again for the next day. A Level 2 charger should be able to handle that. However, if you end up driving more than your expected 100 mi/day average, you may begin to reach the limits of the range that you have available. Hope this helps a bit and thanks for the watching!

I ordered one in October and it was supposed to take 3-6 months, which would have been early January - perfect. Then it arrived just before Thanksgiving - only 6 weeks. But that was too soon to get the presumed rebate, so I let them sell it to the waiting list. Ordered another the day after Thanksgiving. But this was after the new rebate had been announced and the floodgates opened. Took until 2nd week of April to get (almost 5 months this time).

Now even bigger confusion with Bolt discontinuance. Will I have mine before their discontinued production? Will there now be a glut or surge in orders? Did GM find a major problem or do they want to jack up sales of more expensive evs? Not enough profit margin with Bolts? Smh. Barra you're handling of the Bolt is disappointing. What a way to run a company. Said by one woman to another. Crazy.

@@susanhartley5732 If you have an order they will fulfill it; I imagine first step in shutting down will be stop taking orders, then fulfill those that are on the books, they did this before with the Volts. I also doubt they will stop making Bolts before the assembly line on at least Blazer EVs or Equinox EVs are shipping to take up the slack. They didnt fight this hard for market share just to let it slip away. Again.

It really depends on the actual temperature since ''winter'' is not the same in New York or in Northern Ontario. Even here In Montreal, range is cut in half when it's like -25 -30 degrees Celsius but most ''winter'' days it's around -10 Celsius and the range is definitely above half especially if you pre heat the car at home before going.

no entirely true: bolt ev charges faster on level 2, up to 12 kw per hour. it's indeed slowest fast charging ev on the market. so if you don't take a long trip, that is not a big concern. let's say you plan to travel 300 miles a day, the full battery can carry you up to 200 miles, and you need about 1 hour to charge for the rest 100 miles. depending on your trip plan, you may charge once or twice. during the trip you will need to take a break for a meal or something anyway, then 1 hour break is no difference from half hour break, IMO.

The recall for the batteries was based on LG produced in korea. The robot assembling the cells was damaging the plates with the guide pins. LG knew about yet said nothing. Hence why everything should always be made in house. Most recalls are supplier based. All newer euvs have American made batteries.

I’ve had mine for about 6 months now. It’s been great, I really like Super Cruise on longer trips. It’s much more comfortable than earlier Bolts. Really this car’s only significant downside is slow DC Fast Charging compared to other EVs on the market. If you’re mostly driving around town and only occasionally taking a longer trip, it’s no issue. I wouldn’t want to drive cross country though.

To be honest, no EVs are ready for a cross country trip, IMO, if you're on any type of schedule, Ben's Eco Adventure. Even with the faster charging that some have, you still have to find a fast charger along your route to benefit from that, then add the charging time to that. A senTsible approach to a long drive is to take a break every couple of hours - a coffee break, lunch, etc. thosej are the times you plug in the car to bring it back up to the level that will last a couple of hundred km. If your expectations allow for this sort of travel, the 2023 Bolt EV has plenty of range. And you drive more safely and don’t wear yourself out with frenetic ambitions to drive non-stop for many hours.
