I always thought the book now needs him to prepare the abilities once per day or every 24 hours. Freely swap between all abilites but must have book open in hand. But with bookmark it becomes freely use both hands but can only use abilites prepared in the book up to a maximum(5). His combo ability i think is a side effect of satisfying both of these abilities. Its so annoying chollo didnt elaborate on why its annoying but gave us all that other info.

Plus they told us in a few episodes prior to this how skilled Chrollo is at acting, even since he was a little boy. And the fact that hisoka never wears his hair down, the only time he wore it like that was when he showered he probably uses his gum to put it up, which further confirms that this is not him. And you're right the whole time he never took his hands out of his pockets, which is NOT at hisoka thing at all this is definitely Chrollo he always ALWAYS has his hands in his pockets. And I don't think illumi is hisoka btw, that theory makes no sense. Now I can't wait to see Chrollo meeting the tattoo guy of the prince that killed his childhood friend...the same prince that has kurapuka's clan's eye and childhood friends head in a jar...the same prince that potentially ordered the actual massacre of the kurta clan (yes given how the backstory of the phantom always stops before we get into the kurta clan massacre, there's gonna be a big twist over what actually happened that day)

He's probably always thinking about what the fans _"think might happen"_ and THEN he will subvert it. He is the *#King_of_All_Subversions* after all. So I didn't really get into that habit of "hunter theorizing" like many fans. I figured if I just let the story unfold, then the LEVEL of excitement & surprise I would feel at the moment would be *_#PEAK_EPIC_**_!_* You know, like holding out on your favorite food for so long and when you finally eat it, the satisfaction is just over the roof! But that last part you said about a possible twist, I have thought of that as well, after reading that 'chapter about Sarasa's massacre'. I didn't dwell on it so much for the same reasons I mentioned above. But an unholy alliance between *Kurapica & Kuroro* would absolutely be _beyond mind-blowing,_ especially at the masterful hands of Togashi! 💥😭💥 I'm just gushing at the thought of that chaotic tandem! Like when Light & L became a duo (temporarily/superficially) but multiplied 86 times over! (Since 2007, I've always thought of Light as *_#Evil_Kurapika_**_ and L as _**_#QuirkyUnkemptHero_Kuroro_* - also, I've always wondered if there's any interview of Deathnote's creator acknowledging *HXH* as a main inspiration for this other masterpiece of suspense. ​Yeah, his tattoo artist is one of the people that kidnapped the spiders childhood friend, and he works for that prince who most likely is the one that sent a mafia group to massacre the kurta. Given that Chrollo's childhood friend Sheila was living with them, the phantom troupe went to check it out to see if she was okay and later took credit for it to build that scary reputation around meteor city. Also the reason why Chrollo was the first one to know about the massacre of the kurta was because he built the dark Website (that the criminals use to post their crimes on to find who murdered their friend) the same one kurapuka and the mafia use, he hinted at that in the backstory chapter, that's how he got the info before anyone else! It makes total sense to me, I do not see pakunoda or sharnalk and even Uvo, phinks, Nobunaga or machi pulling eyes out of hurt kids and elderly people, that's more something the mafia would do @@laquanlucas6953

Chrollo even said when Uvo suspected a traiter "why would anyone betray us, money? fame? you think any of us cares about these things?" so they obviously don't do it to get rich and the fact they don't care about individuals surviving it's the spider itself that must stay alive. IIRC, if Bonolenov's metamorphosis ability requires Cantabile (he has to dance and get sound effects from the holes in his body), Chrollo may not be able to use it since he doesn't have those holes.

From what we've seen Bonolenov activates his abilities by playing music with the holes in his body. Even if Chrollo took the ability it's likely he couldn't activate it because of that.

@@OWHorus There's no sure way to tell if he would be defenseless. Battle Cantabile may be one ability, but it's likely several ones. Like Kurapika's chains, they have a common theme (chains) but they're actually different abilities, if you stole one, Kurapika could still use the other four. It's unlikely that Bonolenov's ability to disguise is the same as the one that summon Jupiter or the one that destroy your inner ear so he wouldn't be left defenceless, the only ability he'd lose is the one he admitted not to be smart enough to use properly anyway. That being said, my favourite theory is that Hisoka is actually... Hisoka in disguise!

I have read the SW arc 3x beforehand. All over the space of a few years. At different developmental points in life. When it first came out I was a teenager. Leaving high school and deployed to Iraq. Isis. That stuff. It was very wordy. Hard to keep track. I plowed through it. Years later, I was a bored combat veteran needing something to do from day to day. And decided to catch up because HxH was exiting hiatus. I didn’t pay attention to details. It was only catching up to remember the overall storyline. Even more years after that it was a similar thing in 2022. That time I paid attention and thought I understood the story. But KZbinrs who were older than me seemed to pull more out of it than I was able to at the time; watching reviews. I’ve finished my fourth read this week. Yesterday. Wow. I really enjoyed it. It finally clicked. All the cylinders finally moved. I pulled out so many details and during the reading was coming up with theories, that were immediately acknowledged in the next page or two. Felt like Nostradamus. When I saw this video just now I paused it at 0:27 to write this. I wouldn’t have been able to take a guess like this years ago. But this is an idea that crossed my mind as well. I am what it looks like when the brain itself reaches different developmental stages in life. Btw I’m gonna say it’s either Bonolenov or Chrollo. Although there are implications that Hisoka hunted down more than just Neon. Edit: Ironically I understood the 4th Prince’s ability much better back then. Now I’m confused as hell by it. Clearly I’m overthinking.

Hisoka's strength lies in adaptability, Chrollo's lies in preperation. They are polar opposites, but one of them just got gifted an absurd amount of nen. Chrollo for sure has a plan for when Hisoka strikes, but this it not the same Hisoka.

so Hisoka is Chrollo, Illumi is Hisoka and the king is working with Beyond Netaro to sacrifice the whole Black whale one as part of a giant nene condition for the sake of the kingdom and or himself, while working with beyond to take his elite team to the dark continent, mean while Ging is playing with Parasten, the phantom troop is plaining a secret heist of the royal family, and the succession war plays out hidden from everyone but the readers, guards and belatedly the royal family them selves. then there is artist monster who's name i cant spell for the life of me growing ever more powerful learning nene from his body guard who is 1 lie away from having [something] happen to her, oh and then there is the mafia family's and the princes with there own agendas, on top of the hunter association trying to figure out any of this mostly failing but trying there best, and this makes up maybe a little less then half the factions at play? we have individual's in many of these groups with there own plans and information, korapika, Leereo, cheatle, hisoka, no really what is hisoka doing is he even on the ship is he really Illumi? then we have the monster artist's old friend's group, the missing member of the phantiom troupe who may be parasten, or maybe not, the Evil existence of Garo in meteor city! and all of this is without considering the unlikely even of Gon or any other Zoldicks coming into the fry, or taking into account any plans by Parastin and beyonds party, those elite nene users we have yet to learn much about might have plans of there own effecting any number of things if they are even on the ship, ohhhh and then there is that little tib bit about the small army of Chamara ants, nope cant forget about them. . . . . . i am bigging to understand what is taking so long on these hiatus's, how do you even come back to writing this story after taking so much as a week off let alone drawing it and publishing it for hundreds of thousands or people to read, Togashi is a monster for even trying it, and with a bad back, and while he already has all the money he could ever need and no need to work another day in his life. . . i think we may need a new multi hour long recap if the story returns. . . ok i just want more hunter X hunter content but can you blame me?! this channel is amazing and reshapes so much of the story for the better, i want more videos! this video was absolutely insane. Another piece of evidence to support this Hisoka actually being Chrollo is that Hisoka swiftly knocks out Lynch almost like he’s very proficient in doing so after presumably doing it many times, Chrollo had already done this before with Neon during the York New city arc. I’m not saying Hisoka wouldn’t be capable of preforming such a strike or any top tier nen user for that matter but Togashi has already laid out a lot for us that was this discussed in this video and this could further add to the theory

Nen-Fun-Fact: Most Fans dont realize that Conjuration-Nen has a Replacement-Variant, as shown by Tsubone, Ikalgo and Greed Island. A Mechanic that i imagine to be quite popular as it's simple but potent: You give something up to get something new. You could even go to Extremes and conjure yourself into something like a Blade that cant levitate but needs to be used by Someone as a mere Blade, which would sacrifice everything about you temporarily (or even forever), even youre Autonomy, just to gain give youre Comrade Power. It’s basically Transifguration-Magic, the thing that Prof McGonagall teaches. Funny/Epic enough: this is the type that doesnt just allows you to summon Creatures like Werewolves but BECOME ONE. Wow. And of course all this can be used as Self-Cursing, which Conjuration is anyway best-suited for.

Something I realized while watching this is that Chrollo seems particular skilled with these quick, phantom like/hard to see, 1 hit knockout moves. He was the only nen user If I'm not mistaken that was shown using this particular strike in this way, first time being back in YorkNew with Neon. I used to think that he was able to do that just because he's a nen user, a powerful one at that, but while watching this video I started considering the idea that this simple looking strike could be some sort of aggressive pickpocketing move variant that he learned and then developed growing up in Meteor City.. Again, other nen users could totally pull this off against humans just because of the humongous difference in power that Nen gives compared to a normal person, or if strong enough, even against other unsuspecting nen users, but, following the context of this debate, this sneaky style is something that we would expect from Chrollo. Hisoka is a lot more flashy and brutal, he's usually either making a spectacle out of his fights or brutally murdering someone.. Great video as always!

I think of it with two scenarios. In the troupe backstory we see that all the phantom troupe has ever wanted to be were actors. Now they’ve grown and are well renowned figures in the underworld as seen on the ship, and are quite skilled as thieves plotting their next heist. 1. Hisoka isn’t on the ship at all, the troupe does seem to want to kill hisoka but having him on the ship while also trying to hit the royal family for their treasure seems like the common goal. So they set up this act of hisoka vs the troupe to get their way to the top and steal the treasure. Chrollo makes his way up to tier 1 and manages to steal what he can but while he succeeds in doing that the rest of the troupe left in the lower tiers will most likely die being caught in the mafia wars. 2. Hisoka is in fact on the ship. Hisoka and Illumi have said that they share some sort of “cat and mouse” type of relationship or a “tag you’re it” kind of game with each other, which would lead one to believe that he helped hisoka tag along on the ship. His ultimate goal is to kill chrollo and he’s aware that chrollo also may have some if not all of the abilities from the troupe at his disposal, and that’s why he chooses to pick them off one by one before fighting chrollo, so that he has less abilities to use making it more advantageous. (Also I don’t think chrollo can use the copy ability with the hands because he killed Kortopi)

Out of the topic question: In episode 38, Gon and Killua is listening to the recording of Gon's father. During that scene, Gon's father was shown riding a creature that is riding a much larger creature and behind him is the world tree sipping nutrients from magma. But Ging, in the final episode, hasn't acquired a single requirement to explore the dark continent. So, who is the guy in episode 38?? is it an animation mistake?

but here there are 1 more theory and that's Illumi is Hisoka, this is more evident in the Japanese version, because, Illumi ussualy reffers to himself with "Watashi," a way to Say "I" in Japanese is a polite way to say it, but in the spider reunion on the Black Whale, Illumi reffers to himself with "boku" is a more informal way to Say "I" and is the one that Hisoka uses, so the thing is this. Maeby Chrollo is disguise as Hisoka, but Hisoka is disgise as Illumi, so we have a really good thing here.

I can believe it, and is why I am perfectly fine waiting as long as necessary for more HxH. Togashi's storytelling is an unparalelled masterclass. It's terrible what the industry has done to his health abd because of that I am more than happy to wait as long as necessary rather than see this once in a generation man work himself into an early grave. We've gotten so many great manga over the years, but I have to say, HxH I think has THE greatest overall world building and story telling of anything made in the last 40-50 years, and it feels like the story isn't even halfway over

Chrollo could also have just borrowed Bolonelov's ability with Skill Hunter. Slightly less convoluted than the Convert Hands, but with the same result. Depends on whether there would be some strategic advantage that Metamorph-osen has that Convert Hands does not. He has borrowed skills from other Troupe members before after all, so it wouldn't be off-brand for him to borrow a skill that he could utilize better in a plan.
