We held my husband's 90th birthday party at our church. He wanted 90 people there and we made that happen. The cool thing was he requested no gifts for himself, but as a military veteran with 24 years USAF military service behind him; he requested gifts for troops that were currently serving overseas. We had a hospitalman serving from our Ward so he compiled a list for us and we sent twelve care packages to his men. God bless all those who have served are serving and will serve.

@@patriciacole8773 Consider these and pray about it: •Romans 14:5 “One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.” •‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:16-17‬ “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. *These are a shadow* of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.” •Hebrews 10:1 “The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming- *not the realities themselves.”* •‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭8:13 “By calling this covenant “new,” he has made *the first one obsolete;* and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.” •Hebrews 8:5 “They serve at a sanctuary that is *a copy and shadow* of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” An even clearer representation of what keeping the Sabbath day was a shadow of in the *old covenant:* •‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:7-11 “As the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness, where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did. That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’ So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’” •‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:16-19 “Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness? And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? *So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.”‬* ‭‭•Hebrews‬ ‭4:1-11‬ “Therefore, since the *promise of entering his rest still stands,* let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the *faith* of those who obeyed. Now *we who have believed enter that rest,* just as God has said, “So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’” And yet his works have been finished since the creation of the world. For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: “On the seventh day God rested from all his works.” And again in the passage above he says, “They shall never enter my rest.” Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience, God again set a certain day, *calling it “Today.”* This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” For *if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.* There remains, then, a *Sabbath-rest* for the people of God; *for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.* Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.” Hebrews 3 and 4 make the connection between entering the Sabbath day rest, and entering into salvation. One is resting from physical labor, as an image and shadow. And the other is resting from works (working for salvation), instead entering into Christ who did the work for us and proclaimed “It is finished.” The whole Old Testament is full of *images* and *shadows* and *types of Christs;* it was for the Israelites in the old covenant to keep, as a testament of what was to come in the new covenant (New Testament). Our Sabbath rest is the *real deal: Jesus.* Not the mere shadow of that rest: Seventh day Sabbath rest.

OMG I almost choked to death on my own tongue laughing to the science teacher for the Amish. I haven't laughed THIS hard in I don't know HOW long!! :D I had to actually stop watching after that joke for a while to calm down and reset my brain chemistry, cos there's just too many too fast and I can't laugh fast enough or breathe fast enough to keep up without dying, but by god my body was trying!!
