From my perspective, I think this manga has a deeper message that's going to be told as the story goes on. If this was a one shot chapter, I would say this is definitely has the message the foreigners are bad and leave it as that. But if people remove the rose-colored glasses of these "BASED" characters. They are portrayed as assholes. Americans are defiantly putting their own politics in this manga, but forget that anyone outside of the united states does not give a fuck about domestic united states issues. This is definitely a critique on foreigners moving to Japan. But far as I am aware, foreigners are not treated well in Japan (When it comes to the process of immigration and trying to live in Japan). So I am very curious on what's the authors main message. I believe the manga is not going to be as BASED as people think, and may have the opposite messaging.

It's not all just propaganda but could have some actual nuance to the topics that could open up different perspectives. That means other countries' perspectives instead of Americans think.

there is a big difference between colonialism and migration that i think is the source of all the outrage. people are reading the manga's critique of a powerful nation invading and manipulating a smaller one as a condemnation of people seeking asylum or moving somewhere to immerse yourself in the culture. the nuance seems stark to me, so maybe this manga will someday be a good way to highlight that distinction, once people get over their initial repulsion reaction

Another case of "the west gets its hands on something and immediately makes it all about them". Hey, maybe it is, maybe we find out this guy is locked into western politics and trying to make a statement. That is *to be revealed* and not *to be decided by us* who are oh-so-clearly the true and ultimate judges of all culture and society. Sheesh...

I’ve seen this statement a lot and while it is arrogant of us in America to hold this Mangakas political positions to this of an Americans, something’s are wrong worldwide no matter the political situation of the country and it history. Things like slavery, genocide, terrorism etc etc so with that said , generalizing a group and deem them as evil is wrong . That’s it’s okay to literally kill and end them over conspiracy,(this happened in this chapter) ,is wrong in all aspects of life. Wanted to keep a group of seeming peaceful being out of you country just because of conspiracy is wrong. Granted this is the first chapter of the manga so we have to see where it goes from here. But like I said in this video most ppl won’t take the time to hear or look into a more nuanced perspective of this manga and just attach themselves to the “based” aspect of it because it’s edgy.

I just wish the people out there who are discussing the manga would take the time to think and learn more in their attempts to figure out what the story is trying to say. This is just based on your video, but what I see so far is a story where people of a "lower" class are taking their frustrations way too far against people of a "higher" class. I'm thinking it's possible that the "protagonists" end up being in the wrong, with the message being something like "being abused does not give you the right to be abusive". A situation where at least some of the aliens are "the bad guys" but the protagonists are "the worse guys". Also, I see a possibility that there are innocent aliens who suffer as a result of actions against aliens who may end up being legitimately bad themselves. Does that sound reasonable, or do you think I'm way off?

If media shows something that’s bad, does it automatically deserve to be cancelled? If that’s the case then they should cancel Chainsaw man because all he does is sexualize women, or AOT because it depicts genocide. Or JJK because Gojo is literally called out for being racist in the manga. I say give it some more time to flesh it out before saying it’s just “bad” or “racist”.
