How many homages of the Akira motorbike slide are there? A lot but most add something to make it obviously similar, but also clearly distinct. It’s a fine line that Simmons hadn’t figured out yet.

Man the irony... Gene should be well familiar with copyright, especially frivolous ones. But this time... Lol

Other animes / mangakas admire and staight up say their work was heavily influenced by Bleach . But Nick actually tought blatant plagiarsm would fly as ok. It's sad cuz there's is potential to make something at very least decent

I remember it wasn't just Bleach, he straight up copied/traced scenes from One Piece as well.

Worst part is the concept of the story actually sounds interesting and it would have been cool for a western artist to have drawn a manga style comic But he took the lazy and easy way out with shortcuts and paid for it What a shame

I'm only 10 seconds in the video. Pronouncing prefecture as "prefix-ture" and "Tite" as "tight" was definitely a choice

Funny never heard of nick till this video kinda funny its like your advertising for someone who is plagiarizing. Nick ain't never gonna be bleach or one piece
@kram985014 сағат бұрын
its not inspiration when you 1 to 1 copy panels and call it your own, and the fact that in interviews he acts like this came from his mind is straight up delusion, this is another example of kids of famous people thinking they can play life their way, this dude isnt even a artist he traces all his work, and its all from actual art works including KUBO, i once google lensed a piece he did that wasnt bleach and it belonged to a artist that put his work on pinterest and this MF copied it line for line, but just changed the colour from blue to red, hes a scumbag
@Paranoidpedantic15 сағат бұрын
Some of the examples like incarnate #2 pg46 and bleach 348 pg14 can definitely be considered homage bc it's not a tracing but there are way to many examples were this dude did just traced kenpachi
@TeaBurn15 сағат бұрын
Wow, the plagiarized tracing are so blatant, it makes Disney's rip-off tracing Kimda the White Lion look like an original work. Nick Simmons needs to be cancelled; he should just live off his father's fortune and fade into oblivion of obscurity.

I gotta say, those covers and knowing the quality of Kubo’s works made me severely overestimate the quality of Simmon’s art. I thought, surely if he’s doing a carbon copy of some of the best, his is at least decent, right? Oh no. It looks beyond amateurish.

English pronunciation doesn't apply elsewhere. It's not "Tite" as in "tight" or "tide", but more like "Teetè". In other words "i" is like "e" and "e" is like the "e" in "ey"... If you want to talk about the name, you need to try to get it right.

You summarized it pretty well- this kid was just lucky to be born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He didn't work as hard as Kubo, Kishimoto or any other manga author. And it actually shows, because comics are my passions and this is THE VERY FIRST TIME I ever heard about Incarnate. He's nothing without his famous and rich dad. As an artist myself, I am very appalled these people even get a bit of the spotlight, they don't deserve any

It seems like he just wasnt ready to be making a comic book, but wanted to make them alot more than he wanted to make them RIGHT. So instead of taking his time and getting good he pounced on any opportunity to break into the business that he could find. and probably did mean it as homage but didnt have the skills to make an actual homage. I think this is a case of genuine inspiration getting out of hand and becoming something else due to lack of skills to properly impliment that inspiration. I honestly dont think this was malicious plagiarism at all. Still wrong no matter how you slice it but i believe him when he says it was meant as inspiration and homage i just think he wasnt good enough yet to do it properly.

I'm not saying it's ok but marvel and DC artists have been caught tracing for decades. Even the famous liefield captain America is actually a trace of Arnold Schwarzenegger

This is usually what beginners do. Copy and swipe art from their favorite works. It’s part of the learning process and there is no shame in that. But to swipe work and publish and sell it as your own is a crime. But Nick has a name and comes from celebrity, they get handled with soft gloves. Meanwhile, people with no name that do fan animation for free in support of regular series get copyright struck. Maybe Nick should have just done a Bleach Doujinshi until he honed the craft and drawing skills necessary to produce his own book.

He clearly had a passion but took none of the time to develop any type of skill and had nothing to actually say which blows my mind. If he would’ve just taken a few years to learn some basic skill and take some writing classes he easily had the means to make a decent book with a simple plot but instead he chose to use his dad’s name and not do what he said he actually wanted to.

Based on the sinopses the entire plot is also a rip off of Hellsing. The main guy wants to die but can't cuz he is immortal and fights other revenants? Spoilers for people who haven't watched Hellsing. The reason why Alucard hunts and kills vampires is cuz he secretaly hates his own existance. But since he can't die he takes out that hatred on his own kind. I feel like the guy has some talent as an artist, he just needs to refine his art a bit more. But as a writer he seems to be completly creatively backrupt.

Why wouldn't Nick's people say anything about the blatant copyright? Story as old as time: money. Daddy Songbucks catapults his kid's dream with money, then that money trickles down to the rest of the group. Sure, their names are on the comics but it's not them that's steering that ship and if they want that money, they're not gonna do anything that might make their captain have the idea to make them walk the plank.
