I'm not too worried about microtransactions, really, if this happens. What I am worried about on the other hand is Sony making future game PS exclusives, and/or demanding PSN accounts for playing them, which would block a lot of people from playing them at all, even if they're not made exclusives.

Pretty confident thats not gonna happen, fromsoft is moving to self publish and being owned by sony (not sony interactive entertainment) does not force them to make sony exclusives unless fromsoft itself signs some sort of a deal with sony, which they won't do.

My worst fear is that it will become unloved and a PS exclusive. I hate it when a game isn't for anyone regardless of platform cause it just creates more arguments and separation of people online. If they want a consistant and good source of money just letting Fromsoftware do it's thing and give everyone a way to pay for it. No one can afford a 450 dollar console nowadays so why would you spend that much to play one game instead of sticking to the console you're on. I really don't want this series to die due to corporate greed, and the worst part is they'll probably make less money for buying Fromsoftware cause after Fromsoftware's games fall under the Sony tag and not be highlighted as a great company for all, It'll get brushed under the rug and eventually be forgotten 😭😭😭😭

Can't say they'll do it with single player games, as I haven't played them. But do they require account linking to a Sony account? I really hope they don't require that for future FromSoftware titles.

Microtransactions would ruin the balance of the dish that FromSoft creates. It would be like adding dog shit onto a New York slice. Yeah, there is still incredible pizza underneath that but it has a dog turd on it.

Sony doesn't do micro transactions outside of minor side-examples. They also don't do PlayStation exclusives anymore. I genuinely think they don't have a bad history of managing subsidiaries. Genuinely their recent failures appear as lessons, and astro bot's success with it's dev freedom leads me to be cautiously optimistic.
