Now you just need to develop good signal habits - A signal every X distance, where X == to the maximum length you want an entire train to be, or some other arbitrary number and for intersections - a chain signal for every entrance into an intersection - a regular signal for every exit of an intersection As a possible helpful research, you might want to look into some of Factorio train signal blueprints, as they have an identical train signal system as Create.

Doesn't that potentially create a LOT of lag with all those signals though? Or is it not signals checking their area, but they just act as markers and the train makes the check as it approaches?

@@Nevir202 I have no concrete proof for this claim in terms of Create, but if this is like any other game with trains, like factorio, 90% of the lag created by train related things, will come from train pathfinding, rather than the signals or anything else.

@@Bandit2033 train path finding problems seem so easy to fix, like, the path is always the same unless the tracks are modified, always fallow the same path, stop/go based on stop signs, check for updates on the path every time the track is updated. I don't know, maybe I am missing something.

Just a heads up for everyone, you need to have a port forwarded in order to do this on a server, if your server is hosted by a provider, you will need to do that with them.

you can use the observer you use for the flipboards on train stations and they tell you where trains are and what stations they are going to.

You should really check out the Minecraft Transit Railway mod, it is a bit complicated at first but believe me, it's so much fun once you figure it out and features a map like this as well and a ton more

5:50 there are a few simple rules to avoid crashes - if there are multiple entrances or exits to a block, have repeating (brass (wrenched)) signals going into it, and normal signals going out of it. Never have two such "junctions" directly together. you can break up one way rails with normal signals to allow higher frequency. One way rails are usually too much trouble to care, but if you do them, also use repeating signals, to ensure the train can leave it. sections between signals should fit your longest train going there - you don't want a train to go onto a one way truck, pull into a passing track and still stick out blocking the train that is passing it.

If you like trains, try minecraft transit railway. You can’t build trains but there are a lot of options and there are cable cars, planes, boats. All of these are automated only (with a driver option)
