Well i just got finished watching about 50 of these fab rats video's. what a fun family! thanks for the fun! It reminds me of wrenching with my brother in law back in the 60's and 70's. My first car was 1964 chevy nova SS convertable . i would ride people to high school in it and everyone would sign the top. i ended up blowing a piston in it and sold the car for $35. i have had 3 more 64 nova's since then. I just love old cars. again thanks for all the fun!

This might come in handy, when bending offsets in conduit, I have a cheat sheet of multipliers I use based on degrees of bend. Bend deg Multiplier 10. 6 22.5. 2.6 30. 2 45. 1.4 60. 1.2

@haroldphipps3457
@haroldphipps3457 2 жыл бұрын
@Dr. Florida Man it will change with the bend radius. The zippedy doo dah way is to get the program for that. Calibrate your dies, then you can hit your number every time. Had a feller with it on his laptop when we bent some expensive S.S. tube for a platform on back of a boat. Otherwise, we did it like Paul.
@rednexpeditionoffroad3702
@rednexpeditionoffroad3702 2 жыл бұрын
On conduit, the bend radius changes on different sizes of pipe but the multipliers stay the same. Example radius for a 90 bend in 3/4 emt is 6 inches, but radius for the same bend in 3 inch emt is 24 inches, but the multipliers remain the same for offsets. You are limited by the radius on the larger pipes, forcing you to use less deg and therefore longer offsets.

Here's a little trick I use when fabing something and need to figure out an angle you might find helpful. Simply take a piece of heavy gage copper wire and bend it to fit where your piece needs to go. Then get the angle from the bent copper wire and cut away. Takes a lot of the guesswork out and a lot of recutting. Enjoy your videos, especially the Golden Nugget. Jim

That was an interesting & informative show gentleman. You both, gifted, talented & inventive in the mechanical arena. Paul has his pleasant quirks, styles & fun humor - kids, wife & diversity of you tube shows. Ben it turns out, is "made for the camera" with his warm smile and pleasant demeanor - & he's profoundly skillful just like Paul. If you wish to ramp up the You Tube visitors I'd keep featuring (at times) (Sir) Ben, talking and making "moves" with machinery or parts on a vehicle. And that's taking nothing away from "showman" Paul that also knows how to provide an amazing show, with regularity.

Welcome back Randal!, I think Paul and Rory is going to be the only real competition at the tow-truck event, Rory's team has good equipment, plenty of experience with recoveries, and working together, but Paul has new equipment, and Ben,🤞, lol, my money is on you guys, win-or-lose, 😉, your Dad must feel honored when he looks down and see's what you've done with his old truck, your a great son Paul, 👍, the nugget looks finer than froghair, you and Robbie have done a really great thing for Ed, I liked the dual meaning of the "BURNOUT" sign, but I found Paul's response too be rather puzzling tho,🤔, did anybody else?, great video as usual guys, and thanks for sharing.

Hey Paul!! I live in the world of heavy trucks, class eight. When we put a body on a frame. We always assume it is going to bend/flex. I think you need to assume the same. At least make room for any amount of flexing. It's just good practice. I'm pulling for you, but Matt's wrecker looks awesome. Rory is kind of camera shy so I don't know what to expect from him. Another outstanding program. Every video gets better and enjoyable. I'm with everyone else it seems Big Ben has been a huge asset to the channel not just in mechanical skills but in comic relief. Thank you for sharing another fine video.

This wrecker is starting to remind me of great granddads axe. It's been in the family for four generations...had two new heads and four new handles. :-)

I lost my big brother and only sibling to a car wreck in 2010, I sure miss working on cars with him, those were good times.

There is plenty to learn while in school, but life is full of lessons we never knew we needed in tell we do. Always in awe of a life time of expediencies being put to use in a entertaining, instructive, and down right enjoyable way. Thanks Fab Rats, also for anyone wondering the shirts are super comfortable and fit fantastic.

Neat and tidy and everything clears. What's amazing is you didn't do it twice. Good job on the heater/aircon and eliminated the mouse - just need to figure how to keep them out in future.
