Harvesting that beehive will be a pain in the ass because it's been sitting for so long. They will have built connections between the boxes and frames likely. Also if you don't do it regularly you'll have old honey mixed in with the new honey. This is a problem because year old honey becomes grainy and doesn't flow.

It'll probably be fine if he stacks more boxes on top with a queen divider--bees get their initial boxes for stores and babies, new boxes just get filled with the excess that's ok to harvest. That's what we do anyway vOv
