This derelict RV had to go! (20 years of cigarette smoke)

The owner of this RV was recently assisted in getting a newer one as this one had become very unhealthy to live in after decades of cigarette smoke and no maintenance. The entire interior and everything in it was sticky with a thick layer of nicotine smoke. The roof has also been leaking for an unknown amount of time and the wood was ruined.
The organization that helped the owner get moved into a newer RV needed to get this one hauled off to a scrap yard to be dismantled and disposed of. I had gone there to tow it with the ‪@zackliftinternational4841‬ a couple weeks prior, but the tires were dry rotted and wouldn’t have made the trip. So Ethan and I went back with my ‪@trail-ezetrailers5661‬ to haul it instead.
We used my sneaker truck to tow it out to the trailer, then winched it on with the ‪@harborfreight‬ Apex winch and ‪@YankumRopes‬ winch ring. Then we hauled it up north and got it dropped off at the scrap yard.
Be sure to check out our Patreon project where we use whatever it brings in in a month as our budget to help someone the following month! I was never a fan of the Patreon idea until I realized that I can use it to help others instead of myself, so I created the Patreon Project where we can all combine our efforts to make a real difference in people's lives and make the world a better place! For as little as a dollar a month you can join the group of awesome people already on board and be vote to help steer the ship along the way!

First of all, excellent video. Secondly, superb driving on the behalf of Ethan - if you've ever hauled a trailer before, having something the size of that RV behind you being towed is quite intimidating, but he did just fine. Once you warned him about the swing on the corner and the rear of your truck, he drove like he'd been doing it for quite some time. Finally, I like how you are more than willing to listen to other ideas and thoughts and not just dismiss them - it might have been a strange way to move the RV, but in the end it was probably the most practical one for the spot where it was located. Lastly, I have to agree about the weigh station and the fog. It's already challenging enough to operate in the fog, so adding an additional risk into it shouldn't be. Take that link out of the chain when it's weather like that.

Any RV, T.T. or boat does the same with time. Used full time or not. You can keep up maintenance but it happens. They have a life cycle, the fiberglass models can be redone and turn out as good as was or better. But most "stickies" fail at joints then extensive water damage and mold. Mold is a major concern for all.

The biggest killer of all of our tugger lines was dust….every cable that failed on us that we had tested was full of fine sand that worked liked mini knives…unlike a winch line our tugger cables where basically built like a winch line but with a woven case over the entire cable( very similar to a 1 inch paracord)..so it was impossible to see when the the internal rope cords got dirty..
@Chris-lp3dm
@Chris-lp3dm 8 ай бұрын
Just an idea, rope washing is a thing common in Mountain SAR work. Something I learned early in my years as a SAR team volunteer, after especially dirty missions or just periodically we'd take ropes to a laundromat. One with the big commercial front loading machines. Ropes would go in set for a cold wash with just a small amount of Woolite. This would work a lot of trapped dirt and sand out of the rope. There are also rope washer gadgets sold you hook a garden hose to and feed the rope thru.

IFTA decals are assigned to the license holder. The record keeping of which VIN gets which decal is on the license holder. As long as both decals match (same number), that's all that matters. As you found out. For audit purposes, you as the owner, do need a record of this (simple spread works) of decal number vs VIN.

The foggy conditions and scale open is the reason for the pile up on the blues I-84 westbound a few months back that burnt several cars and trucks to the ground.
