I feel like the reason there is a larger trend to be anti-air (lmao) in Hoi4 are due to bigger creators like Feedback who used to be huge supporters of not building air. I think he even says that again in one of his more recent videos. Not saying they started it though.

One thing I've noticed from playing Poland a few times now: doing the focuses to get nations to join your faction will always fail if you are at war, in my experience. Hope that tidbit of knowledge helps! Jolly good turnaround.

Many people forget about the decisions to improve relations. Not the one Worth pp but in decisions tab. Thay takę 35 days to make. And then even at war i get most od them (no matter if i am at war or not there is 1 nation that wont join)

Alex is right. CAS is King. Before No Step Back I could capitulate Germany as the Netherlands in as early as late 1944 (without an airforce). After No Step Back I just couldn't win from Germany as the Netherlands (without an airforce). Today I tried it again but this time decided to make an airforce and I defeated Germany as the Netherlands somewhere around Feb 1940.

Is 8/1 the new meta now? I know they nerfed 7/2 and maybe 20 and 40 combat width divisions with No Step Back. Can someone PLEASE tell me what the best templates are now and what the best Tank designs are (I mean the new one where you have to design tanks like ships now)

I don't know if there is a meta, but I usually play like this: 10W (+engineers if you can afford that) are still good for holding 10W with support artillery and anti air are great for low supply areas (so basically 2/3 of the world) 9/3 replace both 7/2 and 14/4. Always go for 42 or 44 width with tanks or other elite unites. Tanks honestly I don't know what the meta is, but usually I go for medium, advanced medium cannon, radio, sloped armor, easy maintenance (or wet ammo storage), armored skirts, torsion bars, welded armor, gasoline engine. With the early medium chassis that you have built early in the game, you can make the cheapest flame tanks possible, to use as a support company, they give you great terrain bonuses and some extra armor, definitely worth it both for infantry and other tanks. Bonus unit: 10W motorized to support tanks. You make a breakthrough with tanks, snipe the supply hub with motorized, close the pocket and finish off the encirclement, repeat.

@@Canada1994 it's small for pushing, but for holding, you can deploy a crap top of them for cheap and hold even long front lines, like during Barbarossa or things like that. If you fight small areas in high supply areas, just go for 9/3 and you're golden. I also use 9/3s for volunteers.

AI russia is bad until 1942 , and also if your in between 2 super powers of ww2, you should always align with one, or get a allies, axis or Commie alliance, until war is over, then just backstab after in ww3

Paradox changed the like, default combat width of tiles. 20 or 40 width isn't good anymore because of it. People have been doing better with odd numbered combat widths in the high teens and 20s. So, you would probably want like 8/1s or 9/3s, for 19 or 27 width. I don't know the exact ideal though, just 20 and 40 is bad and generally odd numbers seem better.

I usually play with CAS (or TAC, the weaker version with more range and versatility) and honestly once you've got green air and a thousand planes bombing the ennemy, what units you have on the field doesn't realy matter it will breakthrough anyway. And they are as good in defence, especially on logistics strikes that are as op as in an actual war. Just remember that air support is the real key of the Blitzkrieg and spam out this little planes as soon as you have the industry for it.
