ID.Buzz is a fine example for a retro EV, but to be honest, other than the vintage look, electric drive, and fairly decent space, it offers few attractive features. However, this Baojun Yep (Yueye) brings us a fresh perspective on what a small retro electric car can be in the future.

@@lttdat3524 You are comparing a real car currently on sale (Baojun Yep) with a non-existent car whose "pictures" are pure CGI renders (Vinfast VF-3). Vinfast posted these computer-generated images just a few days after Baojun launched the Yep (Yueye) in China, May 25, 2023 (what a surprise!). So far the VF-3 is still an ongoing project even if Vinfast tries to make it appear real already, surfing the media wave produced by the Yep, a tactic that could be denounced as vaporware. It will come at some later point in the future of course, but as soon as 2024 in the EU? I doubt it. Because September 2024 is the planned release date of the car in Vietnam.

As a Canadian who lives in a large city this vehicle is exactly the kind of car I need. I make it a point on avoiding the 100 km/h freeway network when I can drive almost everywhere in the metro region on regional collectors that have a normal-ish speed. I just wish Wuling would adapt and sell these to more markets worldwide including Canada!

I have a small city EV, it's a Mitsubishi minicab miev EV van that is from 2011 and I just want another one with a modern battery pack, something like a byd blade battery, with that I would get nearly 300klm of range, and I'd be really happy, I forgot to ad that reverse cycle heat pump heating would be very good as well. 👍 For your chanel, I really hope that more people subscribe, you deserve many more.

Probably not soon enough😔 They are even having trouble bringing the Wuling MINI EV to Europe. (But BYD's dolphin and ORA funky cat are coming to UK)

This thing is really cool. Alsoi would like is a new EV model of old Subaru E12 or Suzuki super carry style those small vans were really practical and fun to drive also i would not mind a van about the size of old Toyota Liteace. Generally smaller sized vans are something EV market is really lacking.

Why is the rear door hinged on the right? If I park on the right side of the street the rear door gets in the way to load and unload. Seems like a copy of Suzuki where they drive on the left side of the street. Make the rear door hinged on top and I buy one. The reason for side hinge is to support a spare wheel, which is not on the Yep.

They clearly not designed that for utility, only for the look. I guess they just wanted to make it appears more suitable for "hardcore offroad".
