I am about the same height as what you listed in the beginning of the video. Could you talk more about the fit for the size frame that you chose? I usually prefer step through frames when I can get them and I hate feeling like the bike is a bit too tall for me.
@RunBikeMike9 ай бұрын
Yeah forsure. If you are use to a step thru then it might feel a little high for you on the top tube. But if you are my same height and inseam then it should fit you perfectly. When I stand over I have a few inches before it would feel like it is violating me 😳. The reach feels perfect. I was worried about this since it is a set stem and bar setup. I had my friend who is about an inch shorter trying it and he said if the seat was lowered for him it would feel good for him too. Hope that helps.
@iakona239 ай бұрын
@@RunBikeMike yes I’m the same height so it should be fine. My only bike right now is a 1990s Bridgestone Mountain bike with about a 19 inch frame probably and I do ok on that. Thank you.

@@RunBikeMike I'm about an inch shorter than you with 1-2" shorter inseam and I'm leaning towards the small frame, my thinking is i'd rather the frame be slightly too small than slightly too big. Do you think that makes sense or would you recommend the 56cm frame?
@RunBikeMike9 ай бұрын
My friend who is about your size says the 56cm would be what he would go with. I would be worried the 50cm version really small.

Thanks for dropping this review. I think I’m going to grab this bike, just wasn’t sure of the range. I plan on using no PAS the first half, 1-2 most of the second half and maybe 5 my last 2 miles. I usually do a 40 mile circuit. My hope is to not be dying by the end haha

Don’t forget you can also pick up an extended battery pack if you need more range. Let me know what you think about it when you get yours. Also if you do order one I would appreciate it if you could use my link in the description. That really helps out my channel at no extra cost to you. 🤙🏻

Great review and love your content…. I have a Scott Addict Eride 20 that I placed an order for and it has yet to ship. I got it for $2200. It’s a 21 model with the X 35+ motor. What do you think is a better buy the Scott or CF Racer ? With the Scott, I’m still going to be adding the …computer the E shifter buttons and will probably throw on bigger gravel tires later. But original price of the Scott is close 5k.
@RunBikeMike3 ай бұрын
I am not sure what would be a better buy. I haven’t looking into that Scott model. But I do know Scott makes great bikes.

I wish they would just slap a chain and some gears on their roadster v2. I love the roadster v2 but the single speed belt drive makes it less versatile. Yes, the CF is nice but I'm not looking for something hardcore like this, just something between the roadster v2 and the CF would be perfect.

I was just at their store yesterday and they're coming up with Version 3. It will have 3 speed, lights, etc for the same price.. it's coming out next month I was told.

Do you have a video on the motor noise?
@tuyenchu94829 ай бұрын
Would love to see how you convert to tubeless tires. That is the one thing that prevents me from pulling the trigger on this. Also, I have a Roubaix 56 cm and found the stock dropbar is too for a reach. Ended up running flatbat with that bike (yes!). Would you say the geo on this bike is more upright than traditional road bike (my preference) because adjustment to the integrated cockpit seems impossible.
@RunBikeMike9 ай бұрын
Tubeless video will be out in the coming weeks. As for the hud size I need to double check on that. Also you would have to replace the rim and spokes for the back wheel since it has the motor back there.
@tuyenchu94829 ай бұрын
@@RunBikeMike Thanks. Looking foward to the tubeless video. Also, I didn't follow what you meant by the "hud size" and the comment about the back wheel. I supposed that will be part of the tubeless video?

Sorry that should have said hub not hud.

I love the idea of this bike but am torn on sizing, at 5'-8" I fall right into the sweet spot max small, min. large . They have a reach dimension of 376" (sm) and 384 (Lg) measured from the center of the crank to who knows where (assume the handlebar?). No mention of stem length (or the ability to change it) so even with the top tube its hard to determine how it would fit. Care to comment? It does not seem a long stretched out bike, even if I choose a large but more upright would you agree? Would I be too cramped on the small? Decisions, decisons?
@RunBikeMike8 ай бұрын
The stem is built into the bars. So if you wanted a new stem you would have to get bars too. Also you need to consider they are internally routed. If you like a smaller feel on a bike go small but if you like to stretch out go large. At 5’11” the large feels great. I don’t think that would be the case at 5’8”.
@brentcollins97278 ай бұрын
I noticed you’ve got the seat scooted all the way forward on your 56. I’m 5’9”, with a 31 inseam. If you were my size, would you still get the 56 or the 50?
@RunBikeMike8 ай бұрын
At 5’9” you might feel better on the 50. My friend that is 5’10” said he was comfortable on the 56. But I think an inch short might be pushing it.

What does the underside look like? I want to know how easily the internal battery could be replaced down the road. Or does the fork need to be removed?

It has a little cover that unscrews. So you can get access to the controller.

The battery would slide out from the bottom after removing the controller. It would be big job but could be done. This door is also where you run the cable for the extra battery.

Needs tubeless rims. Having to switch those noob ones out for real wheels doesn’t match the rest of the specs of that bike and is a big PITA for the customer. I was all in until I realized I was going to have to throw out those wheels and buy real ones.
@RunBikeMike9 ай бұрын
The rims are not the defining requirement for tubeless. A tubeless rim means they have tubeless tape preinstalled or have a tapeless inner wall. There are two types of rims on the market hook and hookless. These are hook and you can make them tubeless with tubeless tape, tubeless valves, and most importantly tubeless tires. The wheels aren’t the best but you can go tubeless. And if you wanted you could just change the rim hoop and not the full wheelset.

I guess if your are tall rider you are out of luck. 56 is not big enough for guys over 6ft. Especially if you are tall through the torso area. I ride a 60cm with a 120 stem. Oh well

What are the hub sizes? Maybe a new set of wheels that have a more realistic internal if you want to go 50mm. I got some Industry Nine XC wheels as my hub spacing was 12x148mm in the rear and they had end caps for their hubs so I could bring the front 15x110mm down to 12mm all on my Specialized Creo that might also be a solution for you. I would like a second e-bike and this seems like a great price to add another bike to the stable. I have been looking at acoustic bike frames that not much less than the this whole bike.

A lot depends on type of roads you are riding. But for me I can get around 18 miles going full blast on PAS 5. And well over 30 miles on PAS 3 or lower.
