in my experience it's worth saving a rival slot for naples once they're independent, then if you subjugate them you get insane power projection super early. with the AE changes in the last update it's not crippling to get naples any more

Been having a lot of fun with a papa state run; cozying up to the emperor initially and joining the hre and gobbling up italy as the snacc they are. Also, you don't have to get relations with the teutons; just wait till they die; infact in my current run i just had all orders die before I could click the button; killed off the knights myself and fed their island to byzantium

One of the most fun ongoing campaigns in MP i have with a few friends is i play as the otto's and someone else formed the Kingdom of God. Neadless to say we teamed up because we kept getting picked on by 4 other buddies sepperatly so we made aa unholy alliance. Needless to say Russia's manpower got nuked into oblivion and i had a pretty fun stalemate with France as he thought he would be stronger than the 1600 otto's but was supprised our morale only had a 0.1 difference and we kept the war at 0% war score the whole time lmao so we just called a truce lmao. One of the most fun i had in a MP game

Now I haven‘t seen the full video but I did start a run on the Papal state earlyer today and I didn‘t join the HRE and just wated until the shadow kingdom event happened because I‘ve never experienced that this doesn‘t end in Italy leaving the HRE and that way I didn‘t get the agressive expansion malus from attacking other members of the HRE.

In the war with Naples you could've held the capital and let Aragon siege the rest. That way they would've taken some provinces and you would be able to vassalize Naples and reconquer those provinces from Aragon.

they would have stayed prob more than 4 additional years in the war since aragon doesnt have much war score (war target for them is naples which is controlled by ludi) so in the end not really worth it

I kinda focused on conquering the entire Italian region, and forget the protestant reformation, and the Ottoman that slowly blobbing in the Balkan 🤣🤣🤣, But in the 1600 finally 120k papal troops aided with 140k commonwealth paper troops (they bankrupt 2times for God sake and they're 2 mil tech behind) against 450k ottoman troops. Hello @Ludi. Can you confirm that the Admin bonus option of -2 unrest from Sistine chapel event is "nation-wide"? In my game It looks like It only applies to Rome. Which sucks. I also expanded before triggering It.

Just tried to play this on Ironman but France declared war for that providence near them around 1460, I had about 5 allies at that time including Austria, but they were stuck in a war with Burgundy and all others abandoned me so I was left with Urbino and France took that providence and released everything else around me except Rome. It may have happened because I didn't join HRE and the first annex caused me to lose 3 diplo reputation

I’m really curious too. When I start as any nation with a semi reliable fleet like the Iberian nations or Italians I just ensure I guarantee Albania in a war that Venice joins early game. The Albanians just call me into the war. Usually in these wars I am content to just shatter the ottoman navies(before they get too large for me to contend with) and just maintain Albania until I can contend with the Ottomans. I want to see how a victory would look like too.

In one game I was particularly lucky. Austria joined too. As Naples, I joined the conflict and we completely occupied all of their territory thanks to the Venetian and my fleets. And lost many, but eventually overpowered the ottomans stacks with skanderbeg, and the Venetian, Austrian, and my troops. Unfortunately I couldn’t dictate the peace treaty. The ottomans were just made to cede some land to Albania, and release nations on the Anatolian side. Unfortunately, the Mamelukes didn’t take these so the ottomans recovered. But at least their lands were devastated in the early game, they were in debt, and until they were finally partitioned their navy never could compete with mines again.

I'm not joking but once I was confrontated with the worst monarch in EU4 history and until then I didn't even know that it was possible for a monarch to be this bad.. So played as Austria, mid to late game, my monarch died, my heir was still 2 years old, so my queen took over for a couple of years until she died as well. Normal up to here: An Austrian noble ruled over my country as a regent until my heir could came the throne. Couple of years later I got an event that I had never seen before 😂 Option 2: 30 pretender rebels would spawn in OR Option 1: my current regent would ALSO has to leave and instead an actual regency council would step in for the rest of the time my heir is not old enough with INCREDIBLE -1/-1/-1 stats 😂😂
