I recently left a church because of this. At first it all seemed okay but as i started my own studies and really diving deep in the Bible, i started noticing things that were not right. And when i started to speak up i was ignored and sidelined. If you’re in this situation do not get discouraged God is with you.

Those of us who have been in charismatic churches or groups, we have seen just about all of it. I am not a cessationist, but when prophecy gets combined with an authoritarian church governance model, look out!

Yes and Amen...real fruit does not damage the sheep. Walking in the fruit of the Spirit will speak for itself. We always hear...My Ministy and me me me. If someone points to themselves all the time and what they have done then be careful. We are supposed to make His name great, not our own.

Excellent, good bros!..how much we needed this admonition, for this"doctrine" of not dare questioning "the anointed prophets of today" is resulting in tragic results by the thousands!..The gaslighting and browbeating or even threats of divine judgement they receive if they dare dispute some supposed prophecy is heart-wrenching. This reminds me of when I very recently heard "prophet" Robin Bullock saying in a sneering voice, "Don't you question the words from the mouth of these prophets!Well, bless God ,you ain't a prophet so keep your mouth shut on things you don't understand! You pastors who dare try to make the prophets sign your petition to have their prophecies tested by them, you need to get your heads out of your b__tt or God will pass you by!" Wow, the level of gaslighting and carnal manipulation going on!! So sad. As my wife and I did pioneering mission ministry in central and east Europe a few decades ago, even back then some hyper word-faith concepts were trurning some of those needy lambs (who gullibly became fans of this fancy wealth-obsessed message) , they were becoming materialistic and unteachable or utterly confused and having irratic visions and prophecies of their own!..And we had to pick up the pieces and try to retrun them to trusting in the holy written word rather than running forward with a "freshly downoaded rhema word of knowledge" they supposedly received..Sadly, I can only imagine how many naive lambs who heard Joni Lamb tell of her mystical conversation with her dead husband Marcus, "to watch for an international even at 10 pm!", will now be hearing messages from dead saints or whatever. God help us!

God knows everyone's *heart*, he knows the *real* motives of people and why they say and do things (sometimes in the name of God). I have personally witnessed a lot of emotional abuse which I feel is hypocritical and rooted in arrogance and jelousy. It is a crazy world right now, I have a very strong relationship with God and *that* is what gets me through each day!

I live in a rural area with 13 churches across 8 or so different denominations. The congregants of each church dont tend to associate with other Christians outside of their church, and they outright refuse to walk into another church... there are no garden plots, and there is no sense of community, just a sense of hierarchy. They don't go out as a congregation to help others, and they don't offer each of their... interpretations... of Jesus to ANYONE who is outside of their own church. I don't belong to any of them. My heart was turned against God at the age of 13 because of denomination, and God showed me the hypocrisy of denomination as an adult. I KNOW that Jesus is here, but his representatives are severely slacking, only working for Him part-time, and His hands and feet are lacking. I'm using my home on a quarter acre to sprout a chapter of HIS physical ministry and will eventually leave it as a hub complete with a Memorial to Eden Garden so the house can be used as a fresh food bank. I went from a Christ-mocking, God-hating bisexual pagan of around 20 years to literally none of those things in less than the blink of an eye. Now, all I want to do is EVERYTHING that He said; nothing He asks or commands is too much to ask or command. The goal is not to shame these local denominations but to remind them of the beauty, peaceful rest, and wonderful promises offered to those who obey the word of God. I expect to catch flack... I already have in my own family... I'm reminded that Paul made it clear that works don't get us into heaven, and he's right because Jesus made it clear that those works are not a competition between us; they serve to grow and strengthen our faith in HIS everlasting promise. Did you notice what Paul never said about works, though? Not to do them at all... and why? Because Jesus told us to do them, and HE is the ultimate authority. ❤️🕊🙌🙏✝️

Very good. But please, please add that churches are trusting places and are thus a magnet for predators of all types. Every individual in every church needs to keep their eyes wide open for every type of abuser, con man and manipulative behavior.
