I don’t eat breakfast but I’ll be trying this for my lunch with chicken instead of chickpeas to add some more protein ❤

Pro tip if you have the room for calories: add feta cheese on top at the end 🤤

ive made simular pseudo shakshukas in the past, but rarely do i have the time or drive for such a big breakfast. but its also a great lunch for weekends or dinner on stressful days

I’ve never had breakfast skillets but this sounds yummy. They’re always way to high calories in the restaurants. I’ll prolly leave the skins on I don’t have time to peel them

I make almost the same thing except always use sweet potatoes. I enjoy them more than potatoes as they make my stomach feel great, whereas potatoes do not. Everyone is different. Great dish though :)
@Felu Жыл бұрын
Great idea with the sweet potatoes tho!
@Lanurus Жыл бұрын
How does the texture end up with the sweet potatoes? It seems to me that sweet potatoes don't come out as anything but mushy
@nelsonhoffman5922 Жыл бұрын
I typically just boil my sweet potatoes and chuck in the fridge and use as needed. IF you want them crispy air fry them! @@Lanurus

Hi Felu, will you add high protein high calorie recipes in the cookbook in the future? Or additional options to make one of your recipes high calories as well? (So it's bulk & cut friendly)
@Felu Жыл бұрын
If you want to bulk, just simply add either more oil to the recipes or more of the carb source. The recipe remains the exact same

looks amazing I think it will be better with some tomatos, Could you make more recipes with Harissa or anything from North Africa. Have a good day

i don't have microwave. Can i airfry potatoes like 5 minutes or smth like that to achieve same end?

Yes. I do this for batches of potatoes and then store them in containers in pre packed serving sizes to make breakfast quicker.

In terms of protein to calorie ratio, the protein content is low. The recipe is great, though!

I would have to skip the chickpeas... They rate above fried liver to me for taste, and that only marginally. I do love me a breakfast skillet though.

@Ninan_9 Жыл бұрын
You can boil the potatoes in salted water until they can be slightly pierced with a knife. This method is more common but takes longer.

@ninan7683 Thanks. 👍 Do you think I could double the amount and put it in the fridge? I don't want to cook potatoes every breakfast
@petemiller2651 Жыл бұрын
Yes. My Grandparents always have a bunch of already cooked potatoes in their fridge. It will last several days or a week@@cyanl.2245

@@cyanl.2245yes. I find they stay ready better if stored wet before cooked, but after cooking then just cover and eat later.

Protein is too low for the calories
@Felu Жыл бұрын
50g ham added instead of chickpeas would fix the protein content.
@moeabdelhameed Жыл бұрын
You wont need more protein than this in a meal anyway. But you can always make it lower in calories like he said in the video

@@Felu Yes, also a switch from whole eggs to egg whites
@daveeastman1633 Жыл бұрын
@@moeabdelhameed Actually, given my size, my body fat %, goal weight and TDEE, and the leucine threshold-driven maximum protein my muscles can synthesize per meal, I do need more protein, ideally 50-60 grams. The old "30 grams max at a time" myth is just that. Ymmv.
@moeabdelhameed Жыл бұрын
@@daveeastman1633 Well there's no evidence that says that a specific number is the way to go. Still I like to space them out like from 25 to 40 grams a meal. At the end of the day what matters more is the daily intake.

Again 5 minute recipe that need to cook for 30-40 min?)
@VincentPride1986 Жыл бұрын
Why even bother with potatoes? It's the one of the blandest and cheapest carb sources, there is a reason why fastfood chains serve it extensively instead of more healthy roasted vegs for example. Never use that stuff in your diet if you want to stay lean. If your goal is dirty bulk - then yeah, go for it.
