Totally agree on putting the pops "on command". Had the same idea for mine since the car came with a Cobb exhaust (which I hate but I'm dealing with until I get a Milltek) and I just put a catted downpipe on and they're LOUD. I enabled the custom ("star") drive mode with FORScan to keep the valve open but the engine in "normal" so it doesn't pop as much. Already talked with Adam at Tune+ and we're gonna set the RPM cutoff to no less than 4,500 for the pops which should be ideal for the way I drive the car.

I went with the MSD tune which keeps it closed on cold start, plus I have the J9 controller as well

mine does the same thing where the little metal flap rattles when its closed. I got a bunch of turbo whistle out of mine too! this exhaust sounds soooo good i have had it for years definitely recommend if youre in cali and need that quiet mode hahaha

17' FoST with a catless DP with straights and a powder coated "stock" Tip. You haven't heard pops yet lol. First time driving around downtown OKC, I saw a few people jump like someone just fired shots at them. Getting a FlowFX resonator installed when i get home. 😅

i think if u gnna get track edition jus do a muffler delete on stock exhaust and adding a dp will give u loud the touring awe exhaust is worth it cause adding a dp it wont be obnoxiously loud but if u want loud loud save money and jus get muffler delete

I’m not a hater at all but him saying those pops are that loud can’t be true I don’t think he’s heard loud pops before because some of these bmw and gti and mustangs and all these that are full straight pipe and catless sound absolutely crazy. Hi Cameron, thanks for your videos. I bought a 2018 RS recently and the muffler has this logo, I’m not sure if the brand, any ideas? Is an MT, I can send you a pic but is not a Mountune logo, at least not one that I’ve seen.

Mine used to always do it all the time too. Couldn’t ever figure it out. Maybe spark plug related? Has something to do when it’s warming up that’s forsure.

Sounds way better with it closed imo. As someone who's an enthusiast and has owned many 4 cylinder turbo hot hatches I can confidently tell you they all sound horrible with loud exhaust. Video and install was great as usual and the exhaust looks like fantastic quality but it just sounds like any other 4 cylinder with a loud obnoxious exhaust. 2.0 & 2.3 ecoboosts are some of the worst. I'm on the fence about the 1.6 but I wouldn't put one on my own car.
