13:25 I have built my base here on my first playthrough and it felt just magical. Probably the best first 20 hours that I've spent in any game. Also this spot is quite good from a practical standpoint, it's fairly close to a few points of interest. One of the most beautiful places on the island in my opinion, especially in spring. I'd say it's a good place to build.

It is my absolute favorite spot, I can't bring myself to build anywhere else. It has running water that never freezes, tons of resources and closeby points of interest and the view is beautiful.

this video reminds me of when the game first came out and me and one of my buddies built a zipline system from the top of the mountain down to the ocean in one day. It didn't look too good, but it got the job done!

the little lake with the virginia waterfall is in my opinion a very nice place to build. got a base there and its just such a beautiful spot. also the "lake" is actually a river so it wont freeze over in winter thats very cool and as u said the enemy frequency is pretty chill there. also whats nice about it that the modern axe camp and the maintenance bunker a are just one sipline length away can only recommend that spot :D

I built at the place with the waterfall where Virginia was bathing in the trailer and it is great. Fish in the water, tons of turtles, good amount of stones, tons of critters, beautiful scenery, camp with a Knight V very close by and Bunker Food right next to the waterfall.

Building up and over the mountain is a monumental task. I built a zip relay from the beach to the end bunker in a straight line and it took forever but it's worth it.

Dude good job quitting nicotine! You definitely seem more calm; there was a bit of time where you were just like pissed at every little thing. I've for sure noticed a change in the videos too. Not sure how much of that is quitting the nicotine versus getting used to the game. Its probably a bit of both. Nicotine is a huge coping mechanism for stress, so your quality of life decrease might be because of an inability to properly deal with stress. My best advice would be to find a new (healthy - kinda the hard part) coping mechanism.

Take care when placing logs (or rocks) in a way they disappear, I've had logs that vanished into walls teleport to somewhere close, sometimes even flying, but invisible and without collision. It blocked my structures tho and I had to hit the air until I noticed wood particles to destroy it

Towers are looking great man, glad to hear you enjoying yourself again. I built my first main base around that waterfall above the shovel cave and a rope bridge hunting/killing field in the flats right in front of the cave. The flats are the most active mutant area in the mid/late game, it's worse than rebreather beach. It's an exciting area to build imo, this was pre cooking pot so I could zipline between the mountain crash site & the fishing boat pond where I had my fish camps. I'm curious if that area is still so deadly.

Building at the trailer waterfall is nice especially if you build at the base of it. Enemies can only get to you from direction which should be obvious if you look at it. Defense is so easy.

Man I feel ya on kicking nicotine, it is hard to quit and stay away from it. My longest run in 20yrs of smoking is quitting for 6 months'ish time. I also love your castle, a true labor of love like your zipline network. Keep up deep breaths though, helps keep your hands from doing things that land you in jail/prison.

0 seconds ago I wish they would’ve developed the weather system better. Besides visual it doesn’t really add anything. Definitely should have emphasized more on the heat of summer, blizzards during the winter. Hurricanes. Tropical storms, flooding etc. they could’ve really added a lot to the survival sense that way.
