For those who dont know. It's part of Monster Hunter tradition to have a demo out before release. The 2nd beta is essentially the traditional demo since it includes the flagship monster as a hunt, which every demo before it has had. The advance hunt is meant for seasoned hunters, since you only get 15 mins to kill it and you are stuck with under level gear. This has always been a thing the only difference now is that capcom made it a bit more forgiving by granting us 20mins to kill the monster and 5 faints instead of the usual 3 faints.

@@Motolmang even in rise, lots of Gunlance builds had to use protective polish or some skill like that just to make it so your sharpness wasn’t abysmal. No other weapon really struggles with sharpness as much as Gunlance does. In wilds though, Gunlance builds can finally enjoy the comfort of not having to put in tons of handicraft and protective polish and all that stuff in the builds.

39:41 The "animation locks" you're talking about is because your gunlance doesn't have any shells. You have to reload! If you try to shoot without any shells, you'll get that lock. Wyvern Fire, also, doesn't need to be reloaded, but it has a 120 (default) seconds cooldown. The timer of your Wyvern Fire is shown below your HP bar and on your gunlance glowing and steadily smoking - when this stops smoking, that means, it's ready again. Love the gunlance. Even way back in Gen 2 Monster Hunter. 🔥

I **can** use gunlance in World but.. it feels so clunky.. in the end Greatsword just clears so fast In Rise, Gunlance is one of my two main weapons for progression, the hyperarmor and mobility is insane But I really love the guard points here in wilds, i'll only use GL in niche counterpicking cases but it's definitely one of my favorites

What I love about Monster Hunter games is that no matter the title, there is no Meta weapon. Every weapon is deadly under the right user, you just gotta try and find what you like. I found my love in the Switchaxe, my brother did in the long sword. It's an amazing game friendly to everyone

This was such a great improvement in terms of Asmon’s gameplay it’s not even close. Insane. Now he just needs to learn how to use a finisher when mounting a monster and most importantly how to use focus strike and it’ll be glorious. He already learned how to use focus mode so him learning how to do a focus strike shouldn’t be too far down the line.

I dont understand anything that's happening. He goes there, there's a big dragon bird thing, he deals 17 damage and the bird starts fleeing with a timer, a cat comes flying and drop a bucket of green paint, then more 2-17 damage and the bird flees again. Bird starts moving erratic and he dies for the 20th time

The beta has a bug where monsters change area too quickly, and sometimes if u don't deal enough damage they will change area as well. The best players in the game are killing this guy in under 10 minutes with the same gear. One guy just did it in 7 minutes so you can see the difference is skill and knowledge for this game.

The bucket is the healing potion bringing him back to life are more accurate just 100%. The monsters in this game run away if they start to lose and you’re supposed to “hunt” them. Eventually they go to their nest and sleep to heal up and that’s usually where you kill them. If you fight weaker monsters or are really good, you can kill them before they run off but that usually involves traps.

This fight is not designed to be beaten by the average player. There is very little room for error and is usually the biggest challenge the game will ever give you. Look at the rise demo. That was the same and it was far beyond the normal difficulty

As someone that's played every game since the first, I main Gunlance and went straight for him after a "refresher fight against Gypceros (the other monster added to the beta test) This fight wasn't that hard. I only carted once after I learnt it's attack patterns Arkveld almost never hit me. My friend who is joining Wilds as his first game had a little ore trouble. He picked probably the hardest weapon as his first (Charge blade) and got his kill in three attempted hunts. (With me and two others in our now growing "Hunter group" giving him tips while watching his live stream. I'd love to see Valstrax /Crimson Glow Valstrax be added to Wilds. He'd no doubt kick unassuming players teeth in with how fast and aggressive his is. Face tanking his Ambush atyack while others run away to avoid a potential insta-cart is a fun little flex as a Gunlance user. Magnamalo in Rise and Scorned Magnamalo in Sinbreak are leaps and bounds more aggressive than Arkveld. Amatsumagatsuchi being the last BIG title update monster added to Sunbreak is harder than Arkveld. That fight is doable. If you have the patience and watch, learn, and adjust to what's going on around you .

Well technically the “strongest” weapon in any MH is the Heavy Bow Gun. It’s all dependent on the player where there is no real superiority weapon wise. I said HBG because it’s the easiest to get huge damage with and once mastered it’s a fan favorite choice to just go in a clear hunts quickly with. Personally I prefer the insect glave, charge blade, or if I just want to go in and get a clean quick hunt the long sword.

I think wilds bow is the strongest now for the most players. I tried to kill arkveld with hammer, but i don't deal enough dmg for kill him, then i switch to the bow and i kill him sub 15 with two faints. That crazy how much some weapons can deal dmg without sweating and with some weapons you need to play near perfect for kill (not capture)

I finally beat chained archveld 40 min before the 2nd beta went offline. Was kinda hoping beating all the monsters available would trigger the blacksmith to be done "prepping". But no, thats it. You get to hunt 5 monsters total, with lvl 1 starting gear. So for anyone complaining about his difficulty, dont worry, in the real game you will have better gear on by the time you even get a chance to fight him again.

Omg the gun lance is literally doing critical hits of like 450. With half the wind up and the greatsword would do like 103 with double the wind up, half the range. No shield. Like omg the weapon he is using now is like 15x better. Its not even close. The lance was like total dogshit. Doing like 11 dmg. Woah. The movement on the gunlance is also 10x better as well. Like im not cringing constantly watching the movement. The greatsword i hated watching him constantly pushing off the ground to move.

I do it it's easier than on a controller especially now with newer games like rise and world that are literally running out of buttons on a controller. I also think it's better because you can actually move your camera freely and you don't have to lock on or constantly reset your camera position or awkwardly move the sticks with one hand while you try to move attack aim and heal with the other one. All in all controller feels like a mess and monster hunter is too fast for such slow and sluggish hand movements you can get used to it and it probably doesn't feel as bad but mouse and keyboard allow you more freedom and more options when it comes to buttons and stuff.

@@matija5748 I had a buddy who played HBG in World and there were certain moves he couldn't perform for some reason because of the binds, idk. I play controller and can do no hit runs pretty consistently in World/Rise so I don't think it's really accurate to say controller is a mess. Also, do people actually use the lock on feature? I play mouse and keyboard on 90% of games but I'd say Monster Hunter is one of the few games that is probably designed from the ground up specifically for controller.

I mean the fight he was doing is meant to be harder, so you probably need time on like a weekend to do it but you could definitely get several tries on a weekday or do some gear farming to prep for the weekend showdown as other fights won't take as long. The hunt timers are like 60 mins normally with like 3 deaths also being a losing metric which is like a couple cod games, its about chipping at the progress slowly over getting quick gratification.

I doubt you read your comment section, but on the chance that you do: They will be editing some of the weapons regarding their damage output and some of their performance as well. They've recognized some weapons are overperforming, and instead of nerfing the others, they are improving the lackluster ones. I'll also note there are a couple of bugs regarding wounds (the red areas that take extra damage). The first bug is one in which the wound won't disappear after you destroy it. The second is there's an uncommon occurrence where a wound will suddenly do vastly more damage when destroyed instead of the amount it's supposed to. The strongest is and has always been and will always be the Long Sword. Since it rewards counters. On the right hands , LS can absolutely wreck anything.. The Skill Ceiling for that weapon is so high! . . That's why most noobs pick it after watching some crazy speedruns.. . The BEST weapon weapon statistically however is The SnS (Sword and Shield). Since is has all the tools and damage types - shield parry , powerclash , elemental. Slash damage , bash damage , mounting damage.... It makes you learn the mechanics of the game and forces you to become a better hunter and most importantly for new players it servers as a tool to find their playstyle , like how I found my love for knocking out monsters and become a Hammer main

For me, Greatsword always, used that weapon to kill every boss in every game from freedom unite and i dont see myself changing. Love the roll into slap and instant true charge which is a rarely used technique, helps when attacking a monster and you knock it over, you can roll towards it and instantly get max damage very fast. Blocking is awesome and add in the fact its quicker than people realise once you know how to swing it around, you have an awesome weapon.

Yeah i mean thats the main problem. It forces you to always be in combat, otherwise you'll not be able to deal enough damage. You cant play defensively, which is a playstyle i used to.

Me and my friends beat Arkveld 4 times now. We approached it like am MMO party, frontline tank, melle dps and 2 range/utility. I main gunlance and charge blade so took up the role as the main tank. Pulling aggro and facetanking everything. Cooking custom meals helps, i go for more defense and resistance. One friend mains greatsword, another uses heavy bowgun and the last uses insect glaive.
