@@daniels3899 Yes, it still looks like the seconf to last GT3 gen 911, like the one before 992.1 and 992.2 (I consider the .2 a slightly updated version of the same model, which it is, it still has the 992 platform. All nicely touched Turbo's, Gt3/2's after 05, maily after the 996 platform looks modern to me. I love the one before the 996, with back to the circular headlights. The only time I really loved the 996 was, when I saw the car new, in Bulgaria at 2001, and I was 17. Then I thought, lol, they did extend the headlight, and changed the beetle style, it is a different design this time! No, I love the older nd newer, not the 993 though.

I worked at an RV dealer like that, but it was on consignments. After their coach has been sold for well above what was agreed upon by us and the owner, our GM would call the guy claiming we have an interested buyer but the offer is well below that amount. If the owner didn’t agree the first time this lie was told, another call would follow a few days to a week later about a another phantom prospective buyer. Usually a second call wasn’t necessary cus my GM was genuinely an excellent salesman who could “sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves”.

I had a beautiful Carrara White GT3 that I absolutely loved. Speaking of crappy luck, I got into a fender bender that required a rear quarter panel repair replacement and basically the entire driver side repaired. I decided to make lemonade out of lemons but, boy, did that snowball. Figured, might as well do RS wide fenders. Well, since we should repaint it to match, let's delete the sunroof with a carbon panel, one fender needs replacement-let's do racing cf fenders... Ended up with a very cool look with the wider RS body and fenders but I kept the taco wing. To my regret, I fell in love with a Murcielago and sold/traded the GT3 and a Gallardo for it. My current GT3 Touring ticks all the same boxes and I won't make the mistake of letting it go and will be keeping it as it ticks all the same boxes for me.

A friend of mine had a Porsche Boxter 986 that we said was cursed. He had 13 accidents in 13 months, some his fault others were not. It was imported from Germany, a very early model made in the first year of production, 1996? It had already been involved in a serious accident in Germany before it was imported to the UK and Porsche were not yet selling Boxters in the UK. So it was the first one I ever saw and a lot of other people too, finished in Guards red it got a lot of attention. Some of the accidents were stupid like reversing and catching an 18-24 inch high post on the rear bumper and another was cutting to the lane nearest the pavement only to catch overhanging scaffolding and leaving it with a scar that looked like somebody had opened up the flared wing over the rear wheel with a can opener. Another time he had bought some lunch and sat on the grass in a park, and a crowd gathered around the car, he thought that they were just admiring it so he did not run over, until the police turned up. When he got to the car it turned out that a truck had caught the front bumper and tore it off and did not stop, nobody got the trucks details. He then had almost a complete respray to hide and blend all of the repairs because the car was starting to look patchwork. This work was done by a friend of mines father who restores exotics, beautiful job done, car was in "showroom condition" again. A month later a woman does not stop at a give way and t-bones him spinning him 270 degrees. It turns out that the woman is banned from driving with a drink/drive conviction and is also drunk at the time of this accident. The cars goes back to my friends workshop and Porsche will not issue the "laser alignment patterns?" or the "jigging templates?" or they were not available for the "private market yet", (did I remember that correctly, does that make sense???) or is it something that connects to the jigging equipment and also to the car???. It takes weeks to get the parts from Porsche but eventually the car is back to tip top condition. He decides to sell it. Because it is a left hand drive he feels he will get a better price on the continent. He goes to Amsterdam where he has friends with the intention of selling it. He lets his friend take it for a drive and all goes well, the friend loved it. Later that evening he and his girlfriend go out for dinner and as he starts the car it lurches forward and he ends up with a Citroen's exhaust touching his windscreen and the nose of the Porsche buried under the Citroen. The friend had parked the car and left it in gear. He had to reverse the car out from under the Citroen resulting in it looking like it has come out the loser in a battle with a JCB. We think somebody was killed in that car in Germany before he bought it and it just should never have been rebuilt, it should have been recycled into baked bean tins!

My father knew a mechanic who had a green Porsche 930. He bought it from someone who killed themselves he was a guy who owned a gun shop. The mechanic was good friends with my father and my dad wanted to buy the car (thank god he didn’t). The mechanic then took it to the track and wrapped it around a tree and had to have his brain drained and almost died. Then some guy bought the broken car and actually restored the car completely and then drove the car while testing the carburetors or something like that and hit a pole and broke a lot of bones and almost died as well. He only hit the front, however, and someone else bought the car to part it out. The story gets kinda lost from here since the guy who hit the front of the car stopped talking to the mechanic. But the guy said that somebody bought a transmission from the broken car and then hit the car he put the transmission in. We don’t know what happened to him but hopefully he didn’t die. Lesson of the day, don’t buy cars from people who killed themselves because they are probably cursed.

His version of CURSED and mine are definitely two totally different ideas. My version would have been something like the last three owners were killed while driving the car and I unknowingly bought it, parked it in the garage and the garage caught on fire, burnt to the ground and took the house with it but the car was fine. It sounds to me like he made money off of the car many times and had a good track weekend in it between one of those times.

I am in high school and I have a personal finance class. We did a project on car loans. We had to pick two cars. An affordable one and a, and I will quote her, a “dream car”. I suddenly got very excited to do this project. I do a Volkswagen Golf GTI for the affordable one. And as I am about to do a Ferrari FXXK Evo, she said no race cars. Not sure what made her say this but I thought, “ no worries, I will pick another”. I pick the F12 TDF. I finish the project and I had the price of the F12 at market value rather than original MSRP, so it was really expensive. I turned in the project. She looked at it and said “😳 do it again and make it more realistic”. I asked what price range and get this, she said 75k. For my dream car. I have some expensive taste. So now, I guess my dream car is a Camaro SS 1le.
