My mom converted my guitar to a silent one when I was a kid. Brilliant Engineer. Took it away, and gave it back to me with no strings on it.

He records the music first, audio only, then turns on the video camera and pretends to play along to that audio just for the visuals. It’s called lip-synching, or playback. He shows himself unplugging the guitar and pulling microphones close to it just to troll the audience. He gets a kick out of how ignorant his audience is while he’s making money.
