Just a random note that a few days ago a Japanese KZbinr reviewed the controller as well so most of the black controllers have been bought up by Japanese players. At the time of writing this message I have 18 controllers left in stock. I think I may need to start thinking about making more though because I had 32 before that Japanese video review came out. On that note you can reply to this message with any color suggestions you might have. I'll make more black ones for sure as it seems to be the most popular color option among players.

@elsid476 I have it listed at 120 Canadian $ which means the price in USD is probably constantly fluctuating.

Have you tried/considered putting on a squircle gate (square gate with slightly rounded corners), that may be smoother for qc and hc motions. Also i could see myself making a large lever attachment and using this as a super portable arcade stick option when im out on trips lol, the sliding module reminds me so much of a arcade stick.
@bananafaction98713 күн бұрын
@Swingpassfromthecorner I havent attempted to try anything like that out yet but as for your other comment I have made all the 3d files available on makerworld except for the bottom shell so if you have a 3dprinter it would be possible to try your hand at designing your own top plate and joystick.

Copying/editing this from a reply I did, but I am sitting here with the Wedge V2 in my PS5 with the FGC Wingman right now, as we speak, in training mode on SF6 (and in case there's any confusion - yes, it's the red and white one. The Wingman FGC, the one briefly seen in the video). Navigates the PS5's menus, home screen, and HUD just fine, passed the 8 minute test just fine. No idea what Frame Counting did to not get it to work for him - my Wingman's firmware is up to date, maybe Frame's isn't? - but I did literally nothing and it works completely fine for me. Plug and play. So for the interested buyer scrolling comments and reading this, take what he said, and what I'm saying, with a grain of salt. He said it doesn't work, I'm saying it does. Neither of us are idiots. Maybe Frame overlooked something, maybe I stumbled face-first into a solution he didn't find. But it works 100% fine for me, no caveats, no oversights. ...Also, to give a second opinion to anyone a little bummed about his opinion on the disc: Me, for my money? Disc > Dpad module, all day, no question. They're both good; the dpad module is probably one of the better fighting game pads I've experienced in years. But if you're looking for something with as much commitment and feedback as an arcade stick's joystick, with an equal amount of accuracy, the disc is the way to go. I frankly find it more accurate than the Betop's legendary Dpad. Not by much, but it edges it out for me; I can easily perform Ken's Drive Rush run-stop corner carry combos in-match. Once you understand it has as much throw as a traditional arcade stick, you have all of the accuracy of a stick with all of the tactile quickness of a dpad under your thumb. Frame didn't like it, but I vastly prefer it. Not to mention you can physically feel the dpad module's plastic grinding against the plastic on the inside of the controller, and the last thing I want to do is wear down the softer 3D printed case.

How did you get the FGC to work with controller on PS5? Which usb port did you use? Mine doesn’t even recognize it. I’d love to use it on the PS5…
@bananafaction98712 күн бұрын
@FrameCounting it should already be set up like this but in the controller config website go tonl peripheral mapping and just make sure that the usb host pin is turned on and it should already be set to pin 26. This just ensures the port is actually in a state where its on and usable. on my store page I posted a googledrive link with pictures detailing how to do this in case someone happens to fully reset their controllers software programming. But still there was that other guy who's converter didn't work but his magic bootsndid so I dunno. I own neither a dongle nor a console so I'm unable to test it myself.
@bananafaction98712 күн бұрын
The grinding you're experiencing is most likely happening between the top plate and the stick itself where the plastic meets and pivots. On the inside the stick is just touching/pushing against the key switches so they're shouldnt be anything to worry about damage wise. Also I've made all the 3d files except for the bottom shell available on maker world for people with 3d printers to mod or print out their own replacement parts. Also I'm glad to hear someone likes the slider I think I prefer it too but not by much. I love spinning for motion inputs on the dpad. Ideally I would find a way to combine both but I'm not sure that's even possible which is why the controller exists in its current state with the two options. Only downside of slider for me is double tapping can be a bit tedious. Other than that I think I'll buy an 8bitdo neogeo to compare the feeling of the slider which moves in two dimensions to the 8bitdo one that moves in 3 dimensions like a regular stick. Not sure if one is better than the other or if it's just preference.

I think I'll wait for a V3 to iron out the problems a little more. It looks so cool, I kinda want to try this on shmups.

Reminds me of B15SDM's fight pad. However he used a standard D-pad instead of a NeoGeo type and it was more arcade stick-like rather than controller type. A shame he no longer takes orders but sometimes does it as a hobby. Funny how the dpad vs slider is similar to the argument as sticks vs stickless. Awesome job.

In the documentation it says that it's supposed to work that way but I had a user tell me it didn't work for him with the converter but that he tried it with a mayflash magic boots dongle and that ended up working for him so I really don't know where the problem could be.

@yhposolihP did you use the usb pass through port? If you use the converter the regular way the only difference is that supposedly it could introduce a small amount of latency but with the pass through there's supposed to be not added latency which is why the documentation recommends connecting it that way. Great to hear that you've got it working though. Which top plate do you prefer btw slider or dpad?

I don't think I've ever used a hori before but I modeled it originally based off my 8bitdo m30 (pre xbox version) which I don't use anymore. And the 8bitdo m30 itself is modeled on the genesis/saturn pads. I remember reading a comment by someone saying my pad had the shape of a snes pad, the layout of a sega pad, and the internals of a neogeo cd pad and I guess that's kind of true.

Got it. Thank you! - Perhaps I can replace the brown ones with clicky switches myself?
@bananafaction98714 күн бұрын
@@DavidFilskovit's not impossible but it would be a big pain to do as the 6 face buttons are soldered in. The shoulder buttons are more easily accomplished since they have wire wrapped connections. I do wonder if you might be able to open the switches themselves and transplant the clicking mechanism from a blue switch to the brown one that's already in there though. The switches are low profile redragon switches which you can find on aliexpress
@DavidFilskov4 күн бұрын
Thanks a lot for clarifying! - I'll look into it but I doubt that the switches are easily mod'able. I'd hoped they were hot swappable like this: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/joDdkKGEf7Oletk
@bananafaction98714 күн бұрын
@DavidFilskov yeah it's probably something I should consider for v2.5/v3. Mind you I'm not actively working on a successor right now but hot swap would probably be a good idea to add to the list of potential improvements.

Yes that's certainly true and it's impossible to please everyone so I've made the controller with my own preferences in mind but if the requested changes don't deviate too much from what I like I do try to implement them. The best example is that I think maybe I prefer the slider but I created the dpad alternative as an option as I know many players prefer that control method.
