Funny thing is, this video is the first time i actually heard what it sounds like in action. I didn’t have anything set up to test it with, so i just made the code and Simon told me if it worked. haha And yes: I do live in that sweater.

Cat keyboard round robin looks soooooo cool. p.s. nice mic positioning on the hat.

Elektron may have trigless trigs, but the Birds (Magpie and Robin) have twigless twigs. Jam came together nicely after 16:28

Stick an opto-isolator in the RR, then you can't fry the pins.

Noticing that the button is already set up for push/pull instead of on/off is ingenious. This issue could have stumped anyone if they did not realize that detail. Also, amazing downtempo track with the piano here 🏆

The whole setup is really coming together well, really nice sounds dude! maybe add a touch of voice synth stuff, that one you did with all the tubes... and that.

👍😎👍 I modified some Reaktor instruments many years ago, to do stuff like this, when I used Reaktor and Ableton.

Nice jam. The mellow tone of the Round Robin fits perfectly. If you multitrack record this and master it -> Hit ! I feel like everything comes together right now. Keep it on, Sir. Also big ups to your crew.

It is pretty multitrack recorded. RR on one track, drums on one and piano loop on one. Gonna put that up on magpiestuff so you can grab it if you want it 😁

This kit-switching can also be done with a sequencer if it has a transpose function that can be adjusted while the sequencer is running (I use a Korg EA-1 to sequence a Proteus 1). Not as cool as inventing yr own synth and hacking it to a drum machine, but it gets the job done 🧡

Well there you go, what an odd/ crazy/ fun idea 😂❤. You could use this with a synth that has a rotary encoder for instrument selection, or one of the voicing parameters
@SimonTheMagpie28 күн бұрын
Indeed!! Silly really that I dont own a single instrument that has that 😅

As the drummachine has midi I am thinking .. could the same not have been done via MIDI CC ? At least if the drum machine software has or can have program change assigned to a MIDI CC, Its not quite as cool for sure but might have avoided the damage on the Robin.
@NicStage29 күн бұрын
Yeah probably. We were having a little fun, though. And this could work with things that don't have midi but do have encoders.
