oh my god, Zealand you put it so well. I could never even hope to verbalize it the way you just explained it, but its genuinely is like puppies being tempted by a toy(clout) being dangled in their face. Sadly I genuinely believe that fewer and fewer people really even have the mental capacity to understand impact when its not directly targeting them. For example, as a smoker I understand my breath is nasty and my clothes stink of tobacco. It's just the reality of the situation. What I can do though, is smoke out the way of others, wear a coat/jacket while smoking and hang that up away from others & also pop a few mints or gum once I finished. Its not perfect, but its also not fair for others to have to endure a smell that I cant notice myself, so its only right I at least try minimize the impact im making. Thing is I cant really tell you of any other smokers that I know of that will go out their way to not impact others, in fact some countries find it normal for mothers to smoke right infront of their infant children as if thats not going to cause them issues. But in an overall, general sense, people really need to understand that their actions have consequences to others. In the same way you want the world to let you get on with whatever it is you want to be doing, you also need to not infringe on that same right when it applies to others. So in my example, the same way I dont want people commenting on my smoking, its also only fair if I dont give them a reason to comment about it in the first place.

This will never stop, natural human behavior. These people ruin it for us who want to chat, take a picture etc. with people we look up to, appreciate what they do and so on. I always treat them like human beings, because that's what they are, no matter how popular they may be. Also Z, the thing about the comments not addressing you personally, I think it's just a force of habit. When content creators grow to a certain size people don't expect them to actually respond and they start using comments as a sort of reddit thread talking about the video/creator and not to them. Been guilty of this myself.

I think this derives from the generational gap, globalization and a misconception of happiness. I think the mum felt like she had a chance to make her son really happy. Kids that use social media a lot may develop triggers to 'fun' that are different to what their parents are familiar with. When seeing Karl, the mum thought she had a chance to actually partake in triggering her kid's happiness, and so she went so extra. As Zygmunt Bauman brilliantly lays down in his book "Globalization: The Human Consequences", parents no longer control the values, knowledge and behaviors their kids will be exposed to most of the time. Both the national/state school system, and mainly social media, have a greater chance at affecting what the child will deem 'fun' (or, 'proper', or, 'loving', or, 'true'; but 'fun' is the center of out current discussion). And, eventually, the misconception of happiness, where faster is better, bigger is better, brighter is better, more comfortable is better, more secluded is better.... These are all lies. Better is together with the people who truly love me. Better is being a part of a community that my next to kin are also a part of. I hope we will all get to experience that some day. Have a blessed one.

Love this message and this kind of content Zealand. Not enough people address it. It's like the English Hooliganism video that came out the other day: We should not accept this kind of behavior. I hate it when football reactors make videos talking about how great X player is for being nice to the fan running onto the field. No, that is not great. It's dangerous and stupid. It isn't the player's problem if they react nicely or ignore the person. Don't put them in that position and don't praise anything about it. I met all sorts of famous people in college because I worked with bringing guest bands / lecturers / etc.. to the school. Somehow I'd already learned to just treat them like a guest and human being. Sure, later on I'd brag about it and say how awesome it was to get X band what they needed, or to party with Y person after their show. But FFS I certainly never made any big deal about it while I was with them. And that's the thing, it's about respect. If you actually admire some celebrity or other you will respect their life and what they're doing and do what you can to let them have a good day if you happen to be with them. When you make it about you you've just thrown out that respect and said "Yeah nah, I don't actually admire them, I just want to get what I can from them, for me". I don't think that's acceptable. It's gross. It makes you look like a donkey. Nothing you get from taking something like that from a situation will do anything but demean you. /rant.

Its such a fun concept when people start becoming something else than a person. in the eyes of the supid public. I used to do stand-up comedy, but got tired of it pretty early, still had friends among other comedians that became bigger and bigger, but also it alloved me to write for some programs and get to know some more seasonaled actors/comedian, the level from, some one saw you an stage but litterally you never featured on tv or anything, and the still want to take a picture with you, tell you how they like your show, maybe try to befriend you, when is great, then some tv apearences, you get the people that come up to you rushed, and they feel like they know you, but you obviously dont know them, and they treath you like a good old friend, hugs you and dont understand, you dont know them, and you also are part of that interaction. And then, apearening in movies, and longer running tv. shows you become and object, people keep putting phones in your face, yells wierd stuff at you. With zero respect of the person, you are. And this is just from a small country, i could imagine how shit it would be to be world famous, you couldnt go anywhere. and people think its okay, you should just Dance Monkey, because you are probably rich from it.

I think its flawed thinking, but it is a decent reason to do it, just to say you have done it. These people arent stupid enough to not know the POTENTIAL consequences cuz idk if the people got arrested, but they certainly know thats a possibility. Basically what im saying is these in my opinion stupid people surround themselves with people that think like them, thus there is an actual motive to do it, they think its cool and their friends do too.

You know in some cases storming onto the pitch to get attention does have a point (e.g. the 2018 World Cup Final where people protesting Putin's regime stormed onto the pitch to protest). Even trying to get a game called off does have a point sometimes (e.g. Earlier this year Reading fans stormed the pitch mid game to get the game called off in protest to their owners and to try to bring a spotlight on their terrible ownership situation). This type of pitch invasion however is unacceptable, its a sad joke, just enjoy the football, don't ruin it for everyone else.
