That's what I thought at first, but then after watching the full episode, although I agree that the wife could be more supportive, I believe that the guy has no perseverance to run a business and has built a high ego that was not letting him see the mistakes he was making. Also the women getting upset when she saw her husband excited and cooking again, can be a result of her not being able to bring her husband's motivation back through the years like Gordon was able to. Remember that it's the easiest to judge someone based on a video without knowing the whole story and what she had to be put through throughout the years.

Yes, moms tend to do everything, to the point of coddling their children, especially sons. However, I can understand the woman being frustrated. The wife probably gave up a secure job to help the husband. Even Ramsey acknowledged that she had to step up more than he did over the years. You do become a little bitter or cold when you end up caring more than the husband who now put the entire family in a crappy position. It actually hurts to see Akira so happy over something as simple as a new fridge. That poor man was so broken down by his wife. I genuinely hope Lisa received some sort of therapy and reflected on her borderline emotionally abusive tendencies.

Standing with his head down, just nodding and listening, not talking and answering is such an Asian thing to do. He’s not in denial, this is just his Asian way of accepting his mistake.

A very emotionally draining wife. She's his downfall.

Absolutely She is so bitter and angry. She has to be held accountable for her actions in this case. He probably knows that she has lost her love for him and his intuition about her is correct. She is putting her anguish on their children to make herself look better.

Why is the wife smiling while she's saying that her husband is a broken man?

Because she is a toxic female partner abuser... If it was the genders reversed... That man would proably be in jail-

Everything worked out initially. Akira just needed some anti-depressants. Like a Ronin, lost his purpose and brought shame.

That poor guy is clinically depressed...He needs to get on the right medication...Can't fix something like that overnight with a pep talk and some group hugs.

I bet the wife is the actual fault and the husband is to much of a man to cause any insult to his wife.

Episode originally aired in 2009. The Great Recession was no joke and the hospitality industry is really tough. Seems like the family is doing well now sadly the restaurant isn't there anymore (not like the store after it at the place was any successful because of the horrible economy)
