Chest and Digging game have only been in the randomizer since v5 (the previous version). They have always (since v5) given the item on the second chest opened in the first round of the chest game or the 15th dig of the digging game (the first time you reach 15). v5 allowed you to open every chest in the chest game, but that was removed as it caused unexpected glitches and also became a massive rupee farm.

CALQ [The Continuing Adventures of LoserQuest] When he went into the cave at the bottom of the ledge which had the large hole to the right which he used to get to the top of the ledge to drop behind the dark rocks. If he went down that hole rather than go up...he would have found the 7 chests. It's the cave at the 5 minute mark that he enters.

In case it's of any future help, I'm pretty certain the randomiser for the chest game has a system where the first time you play the game, you always get 100 rupees and then the item that's replaced the heart piece. So I think the heart piece has become (once again) 20 dollars. Also, I don't remember if you got the shovel yet, but having the ocarina already doesn't matter. If you press Y on the ocarina while in the menu, it will become the shovel and you can dig up that spot you need.

Most of the chest games aren't affected by the randomizer, However, the chest game seen in this episode (in the dark world village, where there is more than 3 chests) is affected by the randomizer in the way OP describes. It is the only chest game to do this, probably because it is the only one with a piece of heart.

The randomizer does account for those instances of key placements (at least in Version 6, which is what Jared and I both play). While some seeds may seem "impossible," they are definitely beatable. Some just require much more experimentation and thinking than others.

You can upgrade the blue boomerang into the red boomerang. Also, you can actually skip getting the master sword by freeing the blacksmith and upgrading to the level 3 sword.

Jared, three places of potential good treasures: - In the northwest of Kakariko, jump down the hole from the cliff, and blow up the wall to the left of the chests you've gotten there. - Southwest of Kakariko, in the cuckoo hut, there's a blow-up-able wall inside. - Central Kakariko, the guy in red who runs away from you, chase him with the boots. (all in the light world).

The treasures minigame gives you your drop on the second chest you open, the first time you play it. The 20 rupees was what replaced the piece of heart. You have a few options left: - Light world Kakariko village, upper left corner of the town, drop down the hole and bomb the wall - go back to the underwater dungeon in the dark world (where you get hookshot) you can drop down the opposite hole where you got the compass to get, i assume, the big key then what's in the big chest - Lastly and this will most likely be the BIG jackpot, Light world Death mountain, near turtle rock when you jump all the way down you can find a cave with SEVEN chests. I'll assume those 7 chests will contains a great deal of good items (including the sought after bow/hookshot)

If you can get the red shield from something else, then I'm wondering what would happen if you throw items in there. Also try bombing the north wall in the well at Kakariko village.

Did you check the dark world treasure chest game? There's also where you can carry one of the fishes the flop around in the light world when you drain the water from the temple, to the bottle salesman. It's all about finding all the areas where you would usually get an item. Like digging for the ocarina if you already got both the shovel and ocarina from somewhere else. Like the smallest stuff gives you typically the one piece you're looking for. It took me at least a 4 days to get where I could finally play where I could advance through the rest of the game

The Answer Lies in the Mountains. Also in case the next episode also doesn't have you figure this out, You do need the pendants again all without leaving the light world, how ever all you need to do is re enter the boss room and you'll get the pendant, no fight required

There's a cave immediately to the left of where you warped back to the Light World at the end of the video. Also, on Death Mountain, go to the far right cave, the one you used to get back to the top. In that cave, there's a hole on the right side. Jump down that hole to receive untold bounties.

I started up a randomized run recently, but with a twist: I'm playing the Triforce Hunt mode, where you have to find a certain amount of Triforce pieces. On the plus side, the game's been updated to a point where looking at the overworld map seems to be give a hint as to what you can access and when. For example, right at the start it told me that my first pendant would actually come from Desert Palace and my second would come from Tower of Hera. The last one would be somewhere in the Dark World, as the Eastern Palace instead showed Crystal #1. On the downside, I've yet to receive anything of use from the dungeons themselves, aside from maybe five Triforce pieces (the run I'm on needs 30). Each and every boss so far has only given me a map. I've been avoiding the Master Sword at the moment, if only because I get this feeling that it's going to give me a blue rupee instead.

If you find the titans mitt or whatever the gold one is called, you can do the smithy quest and skip to lvl 3 sword. The lvl 3 sword triggers all the things that the master sword can. also the shovel will not delete the flute if you find it. The magic mushroom didnt delete my powder in my run.

If I recall correctly you didn't get the chests to the right of the third dungeon of the Light World. When you go across the bridge, there's a way to drop down into the section with two entrances. I only know this because I derped my way into it with the play through we just recorded. Beyond that, I've got no idea where else you could go for chests. But there's six of them there.

Thank you very much the moment (not spoiling you'll know it when you see it) gave me the best laugh I've had in a very long time, liked, shared, thumbs up and all. You missed multiple chests in death mountain (light/normal world). In the upper east part of the map (where you need to drop down to the caves) go to the cave that brings you back up to the jumping point. Once there fall through one of the holes at the entrance, that will take you to several chests. Hopefully that helps and it's not something stupid.

Check cave at base of dark world death mountain. Its light world side is death mtn entrance/ wood cutter cabin. Also shed in light world kakariko village sw corner. And double check light world towns people? Thought one gave an item after aghanim. Good luck.

JAAARRREEEDDD! When you're up on Death Mountain like you were by the Pegasus Boots dash and break fairy block if you go into that cave that you were in at the 5 minute mark! Where you see the floor you can fall through to the right. Fall down there and bomb the wall there, it's your best bet! :D

lol, you left the mountain without 4-5 chests. Light world side. When I played this randomized, that's where the hammer + ether was. Critical "you cannot continue without this" items. Yes, digging up the ocarina is now randomized to an item, although there's always a chance it's just a piece of heart and not mission critical. The room full of chests minigame item was found. It was the red rupee.

You get the upgraded boomerang. Stuff like the fairies is set to be that if you give them the item you get the upgraded one back. If you already have the upgrade they just give it back.

If I recall you can drain the water south (Light Wolrd) there'll be a fish throw that fish in the pond upwards he should reward you. Also I'm pretty sure there are plenty of chest heart around the marsh (south west corner in the dark world)

In my run, I got the item from the random chest game on the first try. It happened to be a bottle of red potion, so it was pretty obviously the item. I was fortunate there. I think it makes the harp up trill sound like it does when it's a piece of heart. In the digging game, he holds the special prize over his head. I also kept getting that on the first try.

Also, light world desert top right there is a cave with one of the wise men, aginah. In that cave is a destroyable wall that usually contains a heart piece... Aside from that, Im not sure if you did the cape heart piece in the dark world. It's the cave where in the light world you can access death mountain but it the dark world it offers a heart piece.

Aaand just finished my second playthrough of the randomizer. Took me around 8 hours this time, though that is because this time, I didn't have as good of luck with the items as I did the first time around. Really had to think outside the box and use the hookshot in order to get early to some hard to reach places and find the items I needed in order to finish even a single dungeon. First item was Zora's Flippers from a cave in the Lost Woods and last item was a a Bottle with Green Potion from Ganon's Tower.

Oh how I wish these weren't all one recording Because on the *bottom right* side of Death Mountain, when you go in the *cave that leads you back to the top*, take a *right* and fall down the *hole* where you see *two doorways* and there you have *7 POSSIBLE GAME PROGRESSING CHESTS*

He said in the video he saw someone say to go do the digging minigame. That means they weren't all recorded in one go, because he obviously did check the comments.

Yeah that was a while ago when he acknowledged people saying that he could beat the first dungeon without the bow, but I guess he didn't see the people point out the chests on Death Mountain. This seems like a game that's better streamed than LP'd

Jared, you didn't get the chests on death mountain, there are 7 chests you can get. Go into the cave on the far right and then drop down on the right side, two chests are behind the bombable wall and then there are five up the stair case. Also, check the bombable cave at Lake Hylia, it's to the east of the Marsh at location 7, four chests and talk to the man in the cave for an item.

there is also this set of poles in the dark world west of the water dungeon that you used a mirror for to get the medallion near level 2... and a random chest game had a heart

If it helps any, there is at least one chest left I know you missed. It's in the well in Kakariko village behind a bombable wall. If you don't get the glove, hookshot, or bow on that, then you're officially perma-stuck, as far as I can tell. God Speed.

Hey ProJared another idea is to get the tempered sword all you need is the hammer which you have that will let you get whatever the magic statues are offering. Those are randomized as well you might get the bow from that.

What about the locked chest in the dark village? The one you have to take to the thief in the desert to unlock, and would normally contain a bottle if I'm not mistaken.

if you really want to progress, you should drop down the hole at 5:01. also, check the well in kakariko village. there's a bombable wall you missed.

CHEST INFO: Hey Jared, remember at the beginning of the game on the hallways while escorting Zelda to the church there is a room with a bomb wall, they are at least 3 chest inside. Hope you remember. Best of lucks and great gameplay series.

I also thought this would be a good test for A Link to the Past. I did it, got the Master Sword, but I kept failing on Dark World Bosses 1-4. Jared, go near the swamp palace. There are two chests.

Go to turtle rock via the light world and use the hammer to bash the pegs in order to open a portal to dark world and you can explore that side of the DM caverns in the dark world.

i dont remember if you got them but there are two bombable walls in kakariko underground that im not sure if you got both of. one is in the room with the triangle of chests and the other is in the hole at the far left of the village

I found another chest Im almost certain you didnt find! The building below the sick/bug net kid has a chest, but you have to get intro the building from the back door
