I remember yachting once and practicing the Man overboard drill, surely a great option to pinpoint someone in the water in the dark with turbo and then track then on high till the boat can manoeuvre for rescue

Nowhere near tactical enough for urban streets. Too big and cumbersome to access quickly. Finding the side-button in a hurry would be a further hinderance. Then you would have to press it 8 times to go from lock-out to strobe. All in a stress situation. @JonGadget2 жыл бұрын

@user68262 жыл бұрын
This isn't exaggerated all that much. The tests of MS06 I've seen tend to show around 10% deviation of the claimed outputs, with the exception of Turbo, which came to around 21-22k lm at turn on. However, excessive light levels like this tend to be tricky to measure, since many light meters are simply overwhelmed, and you end up having to make estimations. From personal experience I can tell you that the difference between 21000 and 25000 lumens will be negligible to your eye. My Acebeam X80 has two turbo modes of 11k lumens and 25k lumens and switching between them feels kind of underwhelming, since they are both already in the ridiculous light level territory.

Mmm. Engineer here. Up to 35 amps per battery requires top notch connections to the battery to avoid contact resistance power loss and potential loss of voltage to the LEDs. This design looks like low current spring contacts. Should be much better than this. Maths: just 5 milliohms per battery connection means close to 20 watts power loss. On max it's a brilliant light but also a heater. It would be interesting to see how hot the LEDs get.

They get hot quickly! and then the output drops as mentioned to avoid over heat - next model up has two fans built in! Interesting to see your comment on the impact of even a tiny bit of resistance.

@@JonGadget I was going to mention that fans might be an idea to look at. Thermal management of LEDs can be quite 'tricky'.

Inflated lumens are an advertising gimmick. Turbo is totally useless and high power also heats up the flashlight quickly, so it is also nearly useless.

I am very much interested in this flashlight especially when I'm legally blind and helped turn night into day for me to see

Great video. That company should pay you for promoting their product. I'm getting one for sure.

@@dwoaks1 Yeah it is expensive but it looks like you get what you pay for. I hope it has some kind of warranty.

I bought the flashlight, it's really great when it works properly. Unfortunately, the processing is not the same as the light output. The service is also underground. I will probably have to live with a defective product because the request for warranty service will be ignored.

It does reduce power but can run full blast for 70 seconds. Very impressive compared to the Night Core!

USB-C with power delivery can do 100W, versus 12W that a USB-A lead can deliver at 2.4 amps.

My Fenix P1 turned on in my EDC burned the pack and burnt out the lens. Screwing it a bit is great advice.
