Keep the gullet of the tooth clean as that is where the crack will start as it is the narrowest part of the blade and takes the most flex..

When I questioned them in Alska about the VB They said, up here we use vapor barrier on both sides. Right or wrong that is the way we did it. Of course that was in "66.

You won’t like what I’m going to say but y’all need to sit down and realize you’re building all this stuff up high that you won’t get any future use out of. Build the deck on your home after fixing the basement and adding the lower room.
