I'm surprised they didn't make the shoulder missile pods into 3 parts. Have the red interior parts with all of the bumps for the missiles, and then sandwich that between two grey housing units. Stickers for the hip missiles makes sense because those are smaller pieces but I think they could have gone that tiny bit farther for the shoulder pods.

Cost-cutting measure I guess. Usually HG only have one multicolored runner. This kit red parts are in the multicolored runner. And the said multicolored runner most probably reused from other Origin GM kit. Making the missile parts red require it to be put on the multicolored runner, which means Bandai cannot reuse that runner and have to create new mould instead, which is costly

I'm guessing it's because they could only realistically make one of the missiles (hip or shoulder) properly color separated and they decided having one set of red and one set of stickered missiles would look weird, so they just kept everything uniform as gray

Neat tip: spray the missile pods in red, use the stickers for masking and then spray in gray, and once you remove the stickers you have colored missiles

16:20 I'm not sure why anyone would think that a GM should have less articulation than the Gundam that it's made out of, considering that GM's are meant to be mass-produced versions of the Gundam in the first place, and thus should be just as articulate and mobile, otherwise there'd be no point in making them. Even in official media, GM's are shown to be quite fast and agile, at least in the hands of decent pilots, definitely not just "standing around walking slowly".

Maybe because... Mass-Production can sometimes mean "trimming fat" off a design so it's cost-effective enough to be Mass Produced? Like, you answered your own question in the same sentence you suggested it. Like, the Gundam was a PROTOTYPE... Which can mean that subsequent iterations of that design can be changed. Such as skimping on articulation if it's deemed unnecessary for rank and file mobile suit pilots.

FINALLY! They give my boy so much love! It looks incredible. So far, the GM/GM was my favorite version of the MS and I still like its style better but I am so happy that we finally get a UC GM with modern engineering and it just looks stunning!

True. Just because the Origin line came out a few years before, doesn't mean new kits can't be more advanced in the technology. Those missile pods don't even come with other kits so it's brand new. Bandai could have made those color separated

the slot in the top of the shield is for your guns. if you flip the shield around and hold it accross the gms body, the slot is the perfect size to brace the rifle. if you use a holding hand and have the shield in front of its bodyand put the gm in the 08th pose (with a knee on the ground and shield bottom braced on the ground in front of the unit), the slot lines up with the cannon.

It's awesome that they made the GM well armed like RX-78-2 in the HG Origin series. I only wish they included all this stuff in the GM Sleggar Law that I have.

That machine has less weapons just because Sleggar used the loadout you see in the kit in the manga. He never used missile pods or shoulder cannons Interesting enough there Is the Job Jons Custom that have two shoulder cannons (in fact you can do the same with the kit cause the shoulder cannon can be mounted on both sides of the backpack) and a head with extra sensors More a Mass production Guncannon in the end

The best 1st generation GM! I was very pleased to discover it's the same pale blue as the 0083 GM Custom. They look very good next to each other, clearly showing the GM's development/refinement after the OYW despite the Custom being the much older kit.

The missile pods shouldve been a big red piece with the missiles extruding and then you have the gray part that shells over it with holes for the missiles to show through. The result is proper color separation and an only slightly increased part count.

I always really loved this model, The Gundam is amazing but its really cool to pay homage to the general mobile suits that the Federation used. They aren't as cool as the Zaku but they're still very nice

The only Origin kit I have so far is the Dom Test Type, and it is INCREDIBLE! The MG RX 78-2 ORIGIN VERSION is on my list of "must buy" kits, but I keep getting distracted with newer releases. Witch from Mercury line sucked me in and I picked up 5 kits lol. Love me some GM kits when the quality is there.. woe is my wallet😃😩

Actually there is a easy fix for the colour correction of missile pod, you just simply spray the whole thing with Mr Colour Red colour Laquer Paint, after dry completely, air brush the whole thing again with Tamiya Gray Enamel Paint, then use the Enamel solvent to wipe of the tip of the missile pod,and after the Gray Enamel Paint get washed off it will show the Red paint underneath, since Enamel solvent can dissolve Laquer Paint,so you no need to worry about the Red paint getting washed off

Red Gundam markers... from my experience, those tend to 'bleed out' the most easily - make a mess when trying to remove excess. Hard to wash off too.

For the shield, could you install the entire grey assembly the opposite way round? Like, upside-down, so to speak? Given that it slides the way it does, any obstructions should be minimal and easily removed, unless they 'helpfully' designed it specifically to stop you putting it on the 'wrong' way somehow...

MSD is just origin msv. Introduced a few new units, local type/fsd, gm guard etc Redesigned others, heavy gundam, full armor gundam, zaku half cannon etc.

They should start milking the GM kits in normal release (not PBandai) for the master grade line. Most GM kits are PBandai only so not enough kits are circulating.
