I was (also) 10 back then and loved music very very much, but acid, house and all pure electronic genres passed me by back then. In hindsight i missed out on something, as an 80s and 90s lover retroactively i'm into digging into general popmusic of the era's, but the electronic part of it is especially so interesting

I was born too late to see they heydays of Acid and Techno music, but it totally fascinates me as a 25-year-old I want to have this rave experience so, so badly. I've gotten close, but nowhere near what I've seen in these historic rave videos I've been studying. That's what sucks about living in America. The good techno scene seems to be over the lake. But I'm trying to bring the scene back. I just gotta find more electronic music producers!

Remember all the hype in the news. When Police raided a warehouse it was like nothing they had ever seen before, these kids were in a trance like state, like they were possessed by a higher force. Little did they no the more they tried to ban and disrupt these party’s, the more determined the youth came to make sure it happened. It was like cat and mouse game they shut one place, we moved to another. Was amazing time to be young.

@StephenSuttieHouse I guess it's hard to explain, at the time Maggie Thatcher was saying that there's no such thing as society, there was a recession on, youth unemployment was high, the tv adverts were all about getting aids/addicted to heroin, football violence was rife and the newspapers were saying Acid House was evil. It felt like the government had written us off, but every Saturday night the police couldn't stop 50,000 of us from getting together and having a amazingly good time. :D
