It’s really hard to appreciate in full Rosé’s (and Jisoo’s ) vocals within the Blackpink hits, because they are more fast-paced, with a lot of production, effects, and raps. These types of songs - very little instrumentation is where she shines best. Rosé confessed that she sometimes doomscrolls and gets affected by the negative comments she sees on the internet, so she decided to write a song about it. She doesn’t understand why sometimes she feels the need for external validation. This sounds like a lovesong and it could be, depending on how the listener interprets this. But this is for her fans, which she named as her ‘number ones’.
