I have a TY butterfly someone gave my mother when she was going through chemo. When I went back to the US for my mother's funeral, my father started calling me 'his little butterfly'. Mon petit papillon. I have to go cry for a while now. Hang on to that TY butterfly, Renee.

There was some dumpster footage! I realized that there must have been an erupted bottle of bleach because as I was digging a bit more, my gloves got soaked and the items were wet with the bleach. At least it was bleach & not something else! More of the boxes were filled with food, so I left them be. I didn't want to poke open a sauerkraut bag & attract any wild creatures!

All those cleaning products would sell quickly at the flea market, glad you all took them to sell. No need for that stuff to go in the landfill. Animal shelters can also use the cleaning stuff. What an amazing clean out, so many treasures.

I dug a bit more in the dumpster, but more of the boxes were filled with perishable food, so no saving those things. I think the bag that I initially was looking through came from a bathroom, as some of the products like the Tylenol were not opened but then the hair products were almost empty. At least we saved some things from the trash!

To protect shrubs from harsh winters, drive stakes around the plant, wrap with burlap. That burlap should sell.

I don't think I saw anything that wasn't in the dumpster that couldn't be sold or used. I hope that box of Beanie Babies turns out to have some super rare or expensive ones. So odd that homeowners make deals with you guys to take what you want - then start throwing away stuff themselves. At least these folks didn't throw too much of value away. Those Kong dog toys are good quality as you probably know. My dogs have never liked the Nylabones but my daughter's pup loves them. Hope we can see the artwork - but certainly understand if they, or you, don't want it shown to the world just yet. What was that heavy thing the guys put in the van? Some kind of blacksmith stand? Heavy rain here today. A number of estate sales but nothing stands out so a Saturday at home - plenty of projects from previous finds! I did get that box mailed to you yesterday. The guys actually weren't too sure what the heavy item was. They thought perhaps it came from the railroad, but we weren't given any history on it. Already had a buyer for it before it was loaded onto Tony's van, as a few pictures were sent to "the guy" that we knew would want it. As for the family throwing things out, they are doing the cleaning out of the house themselves, i.e. emptying the bathrooms, kitchen cupboards, etc. Most of the furniture like couches, mattresses, bedroom sets, and so on were dumped before we got there. People do funny things when it comes to others getting involved in buying/removing theirs or a family member's possessions. We've been in situations where a person calls in need of a cleanout because a relative has passed away. The relatives have already gone through & removed what they want, so the house is ready to be cleaned out. How things can change when the items start being packed up and walked out of the house... "Oh, did you take that MCM lamp? I actually heard that Uncle Gary might want that. I have to call him" or "Well, our niece who lives out in California might want all the paintings. She initially didn't want them, but called this morning and said she has to think about it." Happens all the time! Tony did a pick one time where he paid for everything in the house, just needed a few days to get everything out. He came back one day & there was a pile of his "stuff" on the couch. When asked why it had been moved, he was told that the potential new owners of the home did a walk-through & decided that they wanted some of the things to go with the sale of the house. Tony put an end to that one real quick! Heavy rain here too, looking bleak for a flea market day tomorrow. As you said, plenty of projects and things to research at home! An advance "Thank you!" for the future mail day package :0)

I loved you picking through the cleaning and hygiene stuff. That is so me. I have a closet filled with that stuff, way more than I can use. Estate sale pantries lure me in. Hi, I've got blankets for the animal shelter in a bag. A box of dishes for Goodwill. I gave art supplies to the senior program at a local church. Other art supplies went to my grandkids' art teacher. I toss stuff each week because we live in a small space. Always fun to watch you. Tina, Al's wife

We donated a whole box like that of the beanie babies to a church that had Operation Christmas Child and they put them in the shoeboxes for the children at Christmas time. A big hit and kept them from the landfill.

Tylenol doesn't work on me at all, but it's crazy money for the brand name stuff now and the generic isn't far behind. I hope Tony and Taco just loaded up that pewter box and hauled it off; the flea market may not want it, but the scrap dealers do.

I have three Beanie Babies...I'll let you guess what they are...were gifts from ladies in my senior group, who know my interest in fr-g figurines. Again, it's amazing the stuff people save...everything, from slime, to sublime. I had a situation running into, in a dark sub-basement, a few crates of decomposing fruit. The owner of the home was a hoarder and ran a fruit stand at a farmer's market! My imagination run wild, thinking of his offerings at that market! Well, you found slime...the sour-kraut!

Beanie Babies for everyone! That was a very heavy wardrobe box filled from top to bottom with Beanie Babies. What a craze that was! I just looked on eBay at Solds and I still don't understand how there are some that are selling in the thousands... The "Hope" Praying Bear, Retired, with tag errors, said that it sold for $99,000 with a best offer accepted. Tony claimed the Beanies, he actually loves selling them, so he better make sure to look good through that box!

It did look fun! Bleach, Tylenol & TV. I check how much the remote sell for on line for the unit as sometimes a universal one doesn't access all the features. I once bought a Sony remote for a stereo unit, from Sony, for $20 + $5 shipping. I thought that was good. Hope more great finds find you 👍👍

It's odd - the remote that controls my mom's cable box was able to control the tv, except for the volume. I found a universal remote at Walmart, hooked that up, and so now she can use that for the volume. She was pretty happy with the "new" tv!

I always want to cry-scream-throw things when people think they are helping out by "Throwing out garbage nobody wants" & MOST of the time throwing out Stuff WE WOULD WANT! I am sickened at the thought of the tonage of treasures in landfills because of people that no nothing about stuff buy decide what is trash & what is not. Just look at any curbs on any garbage night & see how wasteful people truly are. You are lucky & even more so to have a Tony to get you into these private picks. PS If Taco dont provide it please give us a Salsa update on the tub of fun LOL

Tony always goes into a cleanout/pick by stating, many times, to not throw anything away. He phrases it something like "Let us decide what is trash and do the dirty work of throwing it out." We've been to a few homes where we were told that the family "threw out so much trash" prior to us getting there. Usually they tell us that it was just "junky old clothes" or "old kitchen stuff that no one uses anymore" but still.
