My daughters watched this a few years ago, aged about 13 and 14 and they cried at the terrible racism. I told them i was an 80s kid and this actually went on. I think Sean is a star when he said “ I don’t think I can say that “ .. bless him.

true. i used it as a kid without knowing it was offensive. it was commonly used without even meaning to be insulting

Stephen Graham is a genius. Phenomenal passion grit and the ability to convey such intense emotion so effortlessly. Im mixed race in America and I've been told in 2020 to go back to where I'm from even though I was born here.

Stephen Graham is actually just unbelievable. I’ve never seen him do a bad job, every performance he has given has been incredible. Don’t get me wrong, everyone in This is England did an incredible job, but Stephen is just on another level. Absolute british legend

I love the fact even though Stephen had minor success he was still struggling and was able to be available to do this and I feel this definitely definitely definitely elevated him to a new plateau can you imagine how Stephen graham not being available to film if he had been busy doing other projects can you imagine what a different film this would have been, they all individually being something completely unique and relevant to the story corr gave me goosebumps watching this superb acting even Sean you’d have thought he’s of been doing it his whole childhood not just a random kid off the street

not really, the whole point is to show racism as completely unacceptable which if anything is pretty in line with progressive values

@@FakeNameingtonI don’t think that’s what he meant
@FakeNameington2 ай бұрын
@@willb1405 i appreciate that the 'left have ruined everything' narrative is both convenient and fun for many but it rarely stacks up to facts and truth. The antagonists in this film are all far right. The language is used to show the reality of the times back then. There would be no difference if this film was made today. The film was made to strongly critique the racist infiltration of the previously benign and multicultured skinhead subculture, and show how easily vulnerable young people can be radicalised into racist beliefs.
