@@martinlukac1783 To be fair, though, no one really says 'balls' anymore to the point where it's not really a swear word, it's mostly used when people are trying hard not to say something 'worse'. XD

I was watching an interview where he was talking about his American experience in Preacher and his not fully realising how much money he was earning from the show. He said he checked his bank balance one day and realised he was wadded after spending most of his adult life sleeping on people’s sofas and living in a squat! He immediately went out and bought his own home in Chorley! He seems like an excellent, genuine bloke and I think this is only the start of a huge success for him with Brassic 1& 2....I reckon over the next ten years he will become a household name, in the same vain as a David Jason or Ronnie Barker. Very likeable character actor, and now writer and director!

I hadn't heard of Joe Gilgun until January of this year(2024) when I binge watched Brassic S1-S5. I then watched several of his other series & the 2016 movie Infiltrator. What I find so fascinating to watch as an actor is his ability to convey to the audience the inner dialogue & emotions that the character is going through!! Sometimes its painfully raw, LOL funny, conflicted morally, but always a deeply genuine, grounded, & loveable performance. I wish him the most success & continued blessings for him!!! P.S. Yeah🎉 Season 6 Brassic

British people calling cookies biscuits is my favourite lol I had a bf several years ago who was from London , he had been living in Ontario Canada for about a year when we met. And he needed to have the PG tips and the biscuits daily. Lol he even told me how much he liked something called Madeira cake. Which is like a pound cake. So my mom and I made it. And I wasn’t too keen. It was kinda plain with the custard it was better. But he was pretty over the moon that I made the effort. Lol. But my mom makes a pretty boss Yorkshire pudding. My Nanny Wilson would have been so proud of her.
@Smonkey663 ай бұрын
we were calling them biscuits before the US existed to be fair...
@JacknVictor3 ай бұрын
Settlers in the America's was calling them biscuits long before they called them cookies. The word cookie is a bastardisation of the Dutch word for biscuits, koekje. A cookie is actually a type of biscuit. All cookies are biscuits, but not all biscuits are cookies. As Jim from Brassic might say to America: Your name for biscuits are ¢uπts!😢
