It's really hard to Ciel to learn and grow as a person because of his unique position. He has no one with enough authority to punish him politically and socially. The closest thing he has is Sebastian who doesn't care about the fact Ciel can be a dick. Add that to the fact that he wasn't a very social child, human interaction that isn't negative is something he struggles with. SPOILERS! DON'T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED Funny enough, Prince Soma will actually become the closest thing he has to an adult that's able to scold him and stuff like that. They become very close and he's one of, if not the only, person able to boss around Ciel without consequences

The last episode of season 1 concludes Ciel's revenge plotline, which is still ongoing in the manga 15 years after season 1 ended. The second half of season 1 isn't just a secondary ""filler"" arc that has nothing to do with the main plot of the series, it actually IS the main plot of the anime, and the previous arcs build that up.

I know Danny doesn't really know about it except for the two flashbacks in the episode before this one, but even then, I think the fact that Ciel did not have an easy or nice life at all was obvious even just by those scenes... The "filler" is absolutely NOT just that. It might not be canon to the manga, but it's still an important story to the anime. As for Ciel facing consequences, he does actually have that exact thing happen later in Season 1. Lao also has an important part in later episodes of Season 1. Even if you skip straight to Book of Circus, I still HIGHLY recommend finishing Season 1 and 2 later on. Some of the best moments in this series are in them. Especially season 1. Oh, and Angela showing up again is very important and anime exclusive too. It's setting up the anime's original storyline, so if you want to know what her deal is, you have to finish Season 1. But it's very worth it!

Yeah the sad part of this whole anime is that it makes it impossible to follow after when you want to see the canon events given the fact they mixed a lot of the filler in the canon things, but like this whole Indian Butler arc is the most changed from the manga, to the point they changed the whole ending and appareance of key of characters, introduce a bunch of original characters in the canon events. I really wish someone make a remake of the first three arcs in a 12 episode series that can directly connect with Book of Circus and not wasting time with the mess that is season 1 of Kuroshitsuji .-.)

*CHINESE DRUG LORD’S BACKSTORY IS IN THE LAST five episodes and is REALLY good‼️ (its the same story as the manga but mixed in the anime). I highly recommend them. Your reactions to this show are as ridiculous as the show itself. I love it. The accents are perfectly acceptable for a 2008 show tbh we got over it YEARS ago 😂 Prince Soma is iconic, especially in the book.*

I'm loving this but if Danny keeps insulting Ciel I'm going to cry. I love Ciel, and that there were flashbacks that hint Ciel went through a horrific event make it worse. Please Danny leave my baby alone. He is a strong character. Who survived and didn't give up. He has trauma.
