This episode is so funny because all the characters were in dilemma. The Peter Griffins had the Awesome Zone but they couldn't come in; the boxer guy was very strong in the water but he couldn't breath underwater; Okarun couldn't swim in Turbo Form; Nessie didn't give a damn, just nuked everything

Momo may just be the *CLUTCH QUEEN,* like, she’s right up there with Toph from ATLA in how important and useful her powers are. Obviously in a lot of the fights in Dandadan, everyone has a part to play. But I feel like Momo is usually the one making everything come together and doing that one crucial act that lets everything fall into place.

momo and her powers are weird. she got this op multi-purpose psychic power but she's good for mostly support role. in other shounen series, the op powered mc usually finishes the opponent meanwhile, we got okarun, whose only power is turbo granny's speed yet he's the main force

​@harouin9263 it's pretty interesting, Momo is incredibly versatile but lacks in the raw physical power to really put down any threats. While Okarun is as limited as they come only really being able to run fast in a straight line and hit whatever is at the end of the line so hard it almost one shots everything in the series. So the fights have the dynamic of Momo using her powers and quick thinking to get past the enemy's abilities and create the straight line through which Okarun can run headfirst into the enemy.

I love the brutal contrast between their initial misunderstanding. How they are very sensitive about their conceptions of interpersonal distance, closeness, skinship and difficulties of interacting with the opposite sex. And then they have to get buck naked, hug each other and squirm around to survive without any time to feel shame or embarrassment. It's like, nope, you get no personal space, now deal with it. And they did. Very fast development of their trust in each other too I hope.

I feel like in another anime, at the end there Momo would’ve like, done some comedic violence to Okarun because of their compromising position. I don’t necessarily have a problem with that, it’s a classic comedy trope in anime for a reason, it’s funny when done well. But Dandadan like, recognizes that these characters just went through an incredibly frightening and dangerous experience together, eked out a win on the narrowest of margins, and realistically all they feel when they get back is a massive sense of relief, release of tension, and a gratefulness that they could depend on each other. And I like that. Also Okarun’s curled toes were hilarious. 😂

Truly an excellent switch-up for the anime, given I'm sure it was a licensing impossibility for the show to get the rights to the Abba song he sings in the anime. Honestly I think I like the thematic fit of the Japenese Businessman song here even better.

Regarding the reason why Momo becomes confused even when Okarun says, "I am an awkward fellow after all.'' I think many people overseas don't know what's going on, so I'll explain. （Has someone already explained it?） This was the favorite phrase of Momo's favorite actor, Ken Takakura. Okarun somehow used that word, Momo has recently started to be conscious of Okarun, so when Okarun, who has the same last name and the same name, murmurs, "I am an awkward fellow after all.'' The images of the two people overlap, leading to that kind of reaction.

That “clearing air” moment not just bring realization to Momo that Okarun has “heart of gold” but also made the final combo to finish the merge monster possible.
