In this video I demonstrate rolling an extension cord so it doesn't get tangled.

I liked the mitersaw/trim video so I thought I’d check this out just to see how other people do it. I’m very particular about cord wrapping, and this is not how I’d do it. Nor do I use the “wrapping around your hand and elbow” technique. I work with the natural camber, rotating the cable between my thumb and finger as I loop it. I maintain consistent loops just by sliding my hand down the cable to same amount. The first time I coil a cable, I put in a cable tie at the male end and sometimes a second at the female end if it’s a really long cable. When you use it, it lays out flat. You can plug it in, set it down with the female connector up, and walk away with the female connector and it unwinds easily. Or you can hold the male end and throw the coil, and it uncoils perfectly. I’m an old stage hand, which should explain my unhealthy fixation with cables.

I'm not nor ever have been a stage hand, none the less I too am anal about cords! I do as you do. I just think if it is not flat it won't last as long due to wire breakage. Does or will that happen? I imagine so. LoL I'm like this with all cords and hoses.

Just sent in a nomination for u to receive the noble prize for this life saving info. This will save me from punching so many holes in walls and getting smacked in the back of the head after throwing this “ worthless ass cord”😂😂😂 Thanks again

What in the triple double back around knot did you start with before the bottom top.
