Dating coaches are less expensive than these employment coaches who have popped up during the tech freeze to pray on new grads and bootcampers who are unable to find employment. Not to mention all these channels that were created that repeat the same advice to reach a teach influencer status. Just 1,000 for 3 months!

I thought trying to be a mid-level programmer in this economy was hard. Cant imagine how rough it is for all the tech gurus who gave up well before.

​@@junior_jobs Well lets address the fact that I just was pretty rude. Sorry, it's 90 degrees in my garage for a few hours in the afternoon and I'm obviously pissed about this other thing. 6 years. Not a great track record though. I had actually turned around a stalled career. I have my BS in CS and worked at a wordpress shop for 3 years just kinda waiting around. Then I got super serious and worked 3 jobs where I kept leaving after a year because I was ending up in the same boat not actually using anything new and having things overpromised. And they were progressively worse, until the last one where they promised Laravel and Data Science experience, and then sent all the actual development tickets to a team outside the country, and told me "anyone can be a developer, i need someone who can blah blah blah you're a Data Analyst/PM and we hired you because you're a native speaker". WTF. That was 7 months ago I'll be delivering pizzas and writing code if I'm lucky at this point. I'm really hoping that I'm just at the back of a long FILO line (deservedly, from my early complacency) and that we're just getting mowed down in order, and it'll be over soon. in the meantime I can still have a lot of fun in the garage, maybe give someone a run for their money. Oh and I guess I could just start doing Java/C# if it'll pay the bills.
