"That's nothing like what's in the comic!" -is just like the comic "Mary Jane, always in trouble, just like the comic." -MJ can often get herself out of trouble in the comic, including saving Peter from Green Goblin/Norman Osborn by shooting him in the shoulder and beating Chameleon into near-unconsciousness with a baseball bat when he attempted to rape her "Symbiote generators! And at the Daily Bugle. Makes no sense." - The Venom Symbiote was generated by machine on Battleworld and the Bugle is not only near the heart of downtown Manhattan but also has ideal power supply conditions to sustain the machines I just can't, man. ​@@kamudo999I only struggled in the game as a kid, because it was the first Spider-Man game I ever played, based on the awesome and Amazing 90's cartoon, with an awesome remix of the 60's Spider-Man theme, mashed up with the also awesome and amazingly catchy 90's Spider-Man theme, and combines them amazingly well at the opening screen. And even getting Stan Lee himself to narrate most of the game, and to give you hints if you touch the question marks in Kid Mode. Which I usually played whenever I played this game because I thought it was meant for kids. But I had the N64 version and always rented that one every week, because there was a new episode of the Spider-Man cartoon, which had so many awesome episodes, and introduced so many memorable characters, like Madame Web, and Michael Morbius, the Living Vampire, who'd later go on and get crappy movies. But at least during the run of the cartoon, they were actually cool. Well, Morbius was actually scary, but I did enjoy the series. And the cartoon itself and this game are why Spidey is my favorite superhero. And the guy who played Eddie Brock/Venom, was the Dad from the Fairly OddParents, Daran Norris, which I didn't know when I played the game the first few times. And also that it had cheat codes, like Infinite Spidey Armor, Level Select, Infinite Web Cartridges, Larger Health, etc. and also, the final boss, Monster Ock, is probably the scariest boss in Spider-Man history, because he's so scary, even Ol' Web-Head can't fight him, and can only RUN away from him, and also, the building's about to explode, so there's definitely more than one reason why Spidey can't fight this guy. I almost never beat the game because of the final boss, and had to ask my dad to do it every time. But I eventually got over how scary Monster Ock is, because he only shows up during this game and then, never again. Which is good, because he would've scared the crap out of everyone playing if he showed up again...also, sorry if I rambled on too long. I just really loved playing this game as a kid, and I wish it could've gotten a proper remake, but the PS4 Spider-Man Yuri Lowenthal game, and Miles Morales' game are awesome, and I hope we get a third one, with both Miles and Peter, maybe Venom too?

I didn't know Eddie was a photographer either when I first played this game; and didn't know about web cartridges or that Doc Ock was trying to trick everyone; and help Carnage with his plan either; but then again; I'm also not defending DSP; because I was 7 years old when this game came out. And I had trouble with Kid Mode; myself; but this was the first Spider-Man game I ever played; and it's because of that; that Spidey is my favorite superhero; and that I wanted to know more about the character; so I was also watching the cartoon and playing the game all the time; to celebrate there being a new episode of the cartoon. It took me a while to figure out how to properly play and control Spider-Man myself; and I also played the N64 version. But this game taught me a few things about Spider-Man: 1. Him and Black Cat were a thing at one point; but not anymore; 2. Eddie Brock is a rival photographer with Peter Parker; and also; he's Venom; 3. Peter and Mary Jane are married; 4. Daran Norris plays Eddie Brock/Venom(the Dad from Fairly OddParents; which USED to be a good show; and then; lost a lot of quality over time and went downhill; and he did a great job as Eddie; and Venom; and is probably the best Eddie Brock/Venom voice we've ever gotten; 5. Doc Ock was tricking people and actually helping Carnage while trying to get Spidey blamed for everything that's been happening and for sabotaging his machine; and stealing it when it wasn't actually stolen; 6. Monster Ock is still one of the scariest things ever; and gave me nightmares as a kid; and as a teenager; and probably would nowadays; 7. This is one of the best Spider Man games ever; and the main theme is a great mix of the 60's opening theme song and the 90's cartoon theme. 8. Getting the late; great Stan Lee to narrate the game; was a great idea; and I wish we could've had another one like that. 9. The music in the game is just amazing! And 10. This game's pretty much why Spidey is my favorite Marvel superhero; of all time. And also; how to properly use web cartridges.

I love how this is one of those elite games like Jak II and Scarface that genuinely broke Phil. And it's a game that alawtofpeeple watching beat no problem when they were like 5 to 10. Phil vs. Mysterio is legit one of the funniest things I've ever seen. First time I saw this, I was in tears by the end of it. It was great. If they release these old Spider-Man games in HD for current consoles, beating Mysterio should earn you an achievement called "I've gotta say-". And dying to the rising water in the sewers should have one called "Beginner's Trap".

I think I was 14 when I first played this (The Nintendo 64 version anyway). I don't recall having anywhere near as much difficulty playing the game when compared to DSP here. 10 years later (When I was 24), I tracked down the Nintendo 64 version again with the intention of showing DSP how this shit's done (Though I lacked the ability to stream or direct capture it). Now 31, I do have a simple Capture Card and may go back to that plan of giving Phil here a middle finger.

Lol, that's nothing compared to the Symbiote levels though. The sewer levels for Phil was the PREVIEWS for his failure and rage for this game. The symbiote levels is the MAIN COURSE!

Well; you've never seen ME playing this game as a kid; on the N64; on Kid Mode...I was pretty awful... Back then. I had to use the cheat codes to beat the game. But this game's the reason why Spider-Man is my favorite Marvel superhero. And also the 90's Spider-Man cartoon; and it's theme song; and the 60's Spider-Man theme they use at the beginning of the game's intro. And that's never changed; since I played this game with my Dad; back in the year 2000. But Monster Ock is still regarded as the scariest part of the game; and one of the most difficult bosses in the game; and why I've never beaten the game without help. But if went back to it now; I think I could try it again; on Normal or Hard. If they ever re-release this game or remaster/reboot it. But the Yuri Lowenthal Spider-Man and the Miles Morales game are pretty good. But yeah; Mysterio is easy; when you've figured out how to actually play the game; so Phailborg can only struggle against him; because he never knows how to do anything right... Except fail at literally every game ever made. But I remember hating the Rhino boss fight and Mysterio a lot back then...but Monster/Doc Ock and Carnage are slightly MORE annoying; and Monster Ock is so scary; even Spidey can only RUN away from him. And also; Monster Ock is way more powerful than Spider Man; so yeah; when he runs away; I get that. I'd run away too. Especially when it's trying to kill you; and it's a symbiote creature. And Spidey's got nothing but bad memories with the symbiote...sure it makes you stronger; but it's uncontrollable. But Eddie Brock's literally the only guy who knows how to properly control the symbiote. Well; there's also Cletus Cassidy(Carnage); but he's insane; so the symbiote and him are a perfect match; they're both crazy! But I love this game. And while I've only beat it on Kid Mode and Easy Mode(with cheat codes on and different costumes); I was playing for fun; and because I love the character of Spider Man. I'd play the game literally all the time; every week; to celebrate there being a new episode of the cartoon. And also; the guy playing Eddie Brock/Venom; in this game; was Daran Norris; the guy who played the Dad from Fairly OddParents; which used to be such a great show; then it went downhill; but the voice acting was great. Sorry for the essay. I just wanted to remember how much I loved this game and playing Spider Man as a kid. And how much I wish I could do it again... But I don't have a PS5 or a working TV.

I know that feeling, I've found out about him today and boy oh boy, I never thought you could suck that much at DMC. His Dark Souls playthrough was the worst I've seen up to now: "this game sucks, it's too hard, not gonna bother backtracking, grinding or leveling up; I'm out". He quits playing, then he comes back months after saying stuff like "yaa, this game's too easy man" and he actually chills in the back while his fans do all the hard work for him, such as killing bosses, etc. I can't believe for one second this guy used to be a pro Street Fighters 2 player, he's just way too pathetic and undisciplined.

This is another glaring issue with DSP. He treats all games as if they were released at around the same time as a CoD game. He is complaining that this game is dated it's trash and people who grew up and enjoyed this game are morons. Yes compared to a modern game this is not up to a modern game's graphical and technical standards. This is a PS1 game not a Wii-U game. By PS1 standards and I mean BY FREAKING PLAYSTATION 1 STANDARDS the game is okay. He needs to stop treating old games as if they were released in the modern age. He is comparing to drastic different time periods of gaming which is an invalid point because the game is an early 3-D game.

It's funny DSP considers himself a fan of Spider-man, since Spider-man's defining characteristics are his intelligence, tenacity, compassion and obsession with responsibility. And DSP is basically the complete opposite.

As a child, I played this on an iMac when it was ported to OS9.1 by Aspyr. It was one of the first games my parents bought for me to play on that computer Best Spiderman game ever made in my opinion. It makes me giggle to see how hard a grown man finds this game. I didn't even have the opportunity to look up guides because my dial up was dysfunctional. But hell- he's not smart enough to look up a guide before he does a lets play, is he?
