You've got some great MIDI techniques. Lots of inspiration here! Especially using X/Y axis. I want to find a way to try that. Cheers and thanks for another great one AK!

Great vid again! The launch control is a game changer... was looking at the TR-8S, but realized the XL would basically give the MPC a lot of the flexibility I was looking for (and probably more) plus was a cheaper option 😂 btw love the tracks your using in this vid

I have a really similar setup. Moog Minitaur and Moog Grandmother with a Digitone. My sequencer is the Akai Force. Moog, Akai and Elektron make great products. Thanks for the awesome videos!

How’s the FM working with those low end monsters? Do you have to force the sound in there or can you just stack it?? I don’t have any experience with the digitone which is why I’m asking.
@candyflip63452 жыл бұрын
@@AnalogKitchen I have been using the drum sounds on the digitone to manipulate. I also use it for deep pads and blipps and bloops.

About the açai losing the midi mapping. What I’ve found on my mpcone with launch control (original flavour….need to upgrade to the xl :D) is if I accidentally nudge the usb connection there’s a risk it breaks the midi link until I reboot, and can cause all sorts of weird things to happen. So could be a tiny momentary break in the signal.
@AnalogKitchen3 жыл бұрын
Yes I’ve got a similar issue on the Live. The usb connection is already unstable as one port is broken and the other one a bit flex. My mpc is from 2017. So things are starting to give. Need to service or upgrade…

Thanks for making this video - just what I was looking for 👍. I bought the Korg nanoKontrol2 to try this out before investing in a more serious controller and initial testing is looking good but as ever I've been over-thinking this.

Minitaur is a monster. I also have a Grandmother, which is highly bass capable; but it cant do what the Minitaur can.

It’s in a league of its own but… Takes time to wield it though

I also have the MPC ONE & the LaunchControlIs and just wondering if its possible to safe these mapped perimeters as a template that can be used on other songs? Because it would be tedious to create a custom map for every song.
@AnalogKitchen3 жыл бұрын
I think starting with a template might be your best routine. I’m gonna look into that as well. As I’ve mapped this out but keep losing mapping settings. Akai is still a bit inconsistent there which I hope they sort out on the next update

Thanks for the great video. I also use the launch control XL with the MPC. Besides that I use an EC-4. I use the Launch control to control the eight tracks in the drum synth (mute, vol, pan, delay, reverb and/or cutoff) and to mute tracks of the MPC. The launch control basically becomes a drum machine. The EC-4 which is very small and versatile allows to control individual instruments in the MPC (via USB) and the Waldorff Blofeld synth (which also has 16 channels) (via Midi cable). As is noted there are issues with Midi assignment. As soon as you try to save a template the assignments to the master and send channels are lost (other assignments are saved). This is indeed very annoying. Hope this gets fixed soon.

@@AnalogKitchen I experience the same inconsistency with the mapping also which would be devastating in a live situation so hopefully they get that fixed. I would not hold my breath though because AKAI support isn't very good. Case in point, since that last major AKAI MPC update 2.10.1 my MPC ONE won't shut down or boot up on occassion. After pressing the power button to shut down the screen goes off but it's still on and you can see the red light is still on through the vents on the sides. The only way to get it to shut down properly is to remove the USB A cord which I have connected to a usb hub. Turning it on is similar with a blank screen but it's on because you can see the same red light in the vents and I have to remove the USB A cord again to power up properly. I put in a support ticket over a month ago on two occassions but no reply. Lots of others with MPC hardware are experiencing the same issue.

Amazing explanation! Just the tutorial I was looking for. I’ve been doing a lot of research and the more I read about dawless gear the more undecided I get. I have a moog sub37 and a yamaha yc73. I wanna play classic electronica (Daft Punk, Chemical, Fatboy) but also modern melodic techno (Bodzin, Ben Bohmer, Yotto). Time is my main constraint, so ease of use is a must. I’m leaning forward a roland mc707 and, after your video, I think a novation launch control xl will make a hell of a difference. Would you suggest something different?
@AnalogKitchen Жыл бұрын
Try looking at the faderfox machines. They’re versatile and stable, if you’re looking to control heavy machines like the S37. Thanks for watching!

Nah man the question is can you map a knob to a specific cutoff on a filter of whatever track and be on another window at the same time I’m trying to use midi mix for it the force does it but not the mpc🙁
@AnalogKitchen2 жыл бұрын
That can be done Tactical. Just map what pad/subgroup/program/track you want and off you go!
