I would pour the contents into a another tub, leave out in the sun and then you can just separate the cured resin afterwards through a filter most likely
@mikecowan78662 жыл бұрын
Hi Bill, your best bet is going to be to put the contents of the tub into another sealed, transparent container, put it in the sun, and then filter the residue using basically any filter. The tub needs to seal or you'll come back to a tub full of cured resin and no IPA, it evaporates fast. I recommend not using the actual wash tub as the vector for this, because (unfortunately from experience) the resin can cure around the blades which makes cleaning a real hassle and you can damage rubber feet.

If you are someone who just prints decorative models, it is way more cost-effective to just use water washable resin with these larger models. That's about $70 worth of ISA. PLus the added cost of the mechanical unit. I see this only as being worth it if you print engineering grade materials that you have to use ISA for. Thanks for the review!

@Starganderfish3 жыл бұрын
Some great refinements on this compared to their previous units - the adjustable basket, the tilt on the LED array, even the reflective sheet to go under the turntable. Love how all these companies are continually tweaking and refining their products over time. In terms of similar units, the Creality UW-01 has been out for a while with a comparable volume in X and Y, though it tops out at 200mm for Z so may not work with the Anycubic machines. The one downside with these Wash units is the sheer volume of cleaning liquid they require. To fill the tub completely is something like 8 litres and even halfway for small prints, you're looking at 3 or 4 litres. That's a lot of IPA to buy, a lot of IPA to filter and dispose of safely. It's why I've moved to using Acetone and my Wash & Cure unit is now used solely as a Cure unit. A litre of Acetone is enough for a 30-second slosh around and it cleans even the largest of prints because Acetone doesn't require that scrubbing/stirring/ultrasonic action. It's the same process as IPA to decant/filter/evaporate it but you can get away with a lot less. The only downside is that it eats nitrile gloves, and I believe it can weaken certain resins, though none of the ones I've tried has been negatively affected.

I have this and the Anycubic mono 6K and love them. The only problem I am fining is the resin cures on the top of the build plate. That isn't much of a problem since I can wash the plate with the print. When I take the build plate off and put the whole thing in the wash station. Just curious why would 30sec increments matter. So what if you wash the part for 1 or 2 mins vs 30secs?

I plan to try some larger prints with my Mono X and Saturn. Was debating on getting a larger ultrasonic cleaner or this larger wash and cure. Decided on this wash and cure because of it's features plus it currently has a $30 coupon on amazon right now and I also had about $30 of cash back amazon store card rewards as well. So I used your affiliate link and also saved about $60. I do wish they would have kept the final retail price under $200 though. Having it at $249 does seem a bit high for what it actually is and all that goes into making it. But I digress. On a side note: I do own the small Elegoo wash and cure. I have had bad luck with it like I have with the Mars and Saturn. Darn thing stops working out of the blue from time to time. I have had so much better luck with Anycubic products so I hope this one is no different. Cant wait to try it out and see.

IPA is still priced very high due to pandemic, so picked up three gallons of Mr. Clean for less than $20 at HD when it was on sale for $6. Meadows and Rain sure smells a lot better after a good clean in the Ultrasonic than IPA, which I still use but more sparingly. Have yet to test if I can filter the resin out with like a coffee filter, because it went from semi-transparent to murky after cleaning a few prints. Of course I enjoyed seeing that, because it meant that Mr. Clean was very effective in cleaning the prints.

I cannot agree more with this video. I just got a used one for my Saturn prints. That washer is so powerful compared to the Mercury Plus station I had.
