Everything you said about not being taken seriously about pain is so true! I’m white, but also have a chronic medical condition, doctors always think we are trying to get pain meds 😢 There’s a stigma being a person with chronic illness or a person of color with med seeking. It’s so wrong and makes our lives so much harder. I sympathize with you 100% ❤

You have to be mindful of what you eat on GLP-1 medications and make sure you are not consuming foods, like read meat, that is harder to digest. Gastric emptying is slow on those medications which will mess up your digestive tract. Also make sure you are pooping. Very important because you dont wanna be backed up with stool while your stomach is full of undigested food.

Sharing. Needed a colonoscopy and a month before my procedure. My physician reached out to do the check in and I did mention that I was taking semiglutide and they told me that kind of medicine any GLP1 one that I should stop taking it three weeks before my colonoscopy because it could affect, my results. Just an FYI, always check with your physician weeks before you’re having any procedures and tell them all the medicine you’re taking. That was very important. I was switching from semiglutide to Trazepitude anyways and I was switching providers to join Fridays so it all worked out 😊

OMG, where do I begin...I listened very intently to your message. One of my greatest concerns is the Thyroid issues from the GLP1 medication since I am of the older generation. My mother had thyroid issues so I really have one eyebrow up and one down. Also, I didn't know about the calcium issue. I almost started taking some, very glad I didn't. Myself, I'm still on the 2.5mg of Mounjaro and have been since Jun. 26th. So almost 4 mos now and I'm down 35lbs. I decided there was no need to move up in dosage because I am losing little by little which is fine. I will say I do have a lot of jiggly loose skin but by taking the low dose, it gives me time to at least work on repairing my skin. Good thing is the Fall season is here and I can hide it, Lol. Please keep sharing your experiences as it really does help the GLP1 community in our journey. I pray that whatever you're going through is nothing serious. Getting checked out is very important. Take care Sis!

I appreciate you sharing this, and it is a good reality check that decisions we make privately about how to utilize these meds can have unforseen consequences. The experience with providers through services like Fridays might be different since this is such a huge part of what they do every day, but one of my big struggles with consulting my PCP about this medication is that he doesn't seem to know any more than I do about the intricacies of dosing and side effects. I have been guilty of taking some of my own dosing decisions into my own hands because it feels like a better option than waiting around for potentially misguided advice from my provider. I wish it was easier to find providers who specialize in obesity medicine 😪

I wasn't going to say anything because I'm not sure if it was the Tirzepatide causing it, because I was already having challenges with my Thyroids before starting the medication, but just not the throat part, but I don't want to hold information that may help. ❤

I'm thankful for your video, and I pray everything out fine for you 🙏, this coming Thursday I'm starting back on Tirzepatide 2.5mg after being off of it since June 13th because I had got so sick when I increase my dose to 5mg on the 8 week. I only loss a total 14 lbs on the medication and I had to stop taking it so as of today I have gained 10 of those 14 lbs back it's been a struggle trying to keep the weight off. I'm very nervous about starting again,😓 I'm starting back on 2.5mg I was thinking to do every other week, or do 2.0mg weekly. But I better ask the doctor first, and listening to you speak about the calcium, reminded me that my cancer doctor ask me was I taking calcium? because my bone density test shows some bone thinning 😢I don't believe it's from when I was on the Tirzepatide because I was only on it 8 weeks. So I got to find a way to take in more calcium.

14:00 Well, not sure how missing a week is suddenly gonna give you gastropareisis… but can see how being on a very long shot cycle on a high dose could be ROUGH on the body, and cause problems. 😟 Imagine being on a one-month shot cycle on 15mg. It’s almost like you’re restarting on the drug every time. Your body’s taking a bit of a beating from that, and you can’t really expect good things to come of it, long-term. 😢 Do understand the desire to save $$$, but, geez… what will the medical bills from potential complications set you back? 😭 Maybe you can deviate from a 7-day shot cycle a bit, if your doctor’s on board. But to deviate *wildly* from it, especially at higher doses… seems kinda like you’re asking for it. And beyond a certain point, it doesn’t even work well. Even a 2-week shot cycle’s a pain… dose regular, and you’re hungry enough to devour a wounded moose most of the second week, dose high to compensate for that, and you’re overdosed the first several days and enjoying the fun side effects that come with. 🤮 From what I’ve seen, a 10- or 11-day cycle is about the limit of things working smoothly for most. But, there’s always exceptions/outliers. But if you’re taking it monthly or close, gosh - do you even still need to be on it at all? 🤔

I may take a .10 again today. I haven’t decided yet. I might take a .15. I’m so glad you address this, I can’t wait to see your results but just like opiates you got a taper up and down. I know that for sure I’m very careful with medication‘s. I didn’t know that. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I pray everything is fine and well with you in Jesus name amen 🙏 thyroid levels should be key and checked in taking this medication although I think it does mess with your thyroid levels to create hormones to make you not want to eat but I guess you’ll know more and you can teach us thanks girl thanks❤ also, I think vitamin C is always good for everything because it’s a water-based antioxidant. I don’t think that can hurt and it can help with colds and things like that anyway I’ll keep you posted on my if I inject or not and how my throat feels again it gave me such a bad headache and a cold feeling for a couple days. I’m not sure if I wanna move forward with it although I still have 20 pounds to lose, I wasn’t terribly overweight, but I wanted to lose it because my bones literally hurt my joints hurt that was the reason why I wanted to take it. I have a bad lower back and foot anyway God bless and protect you.❤

That’s the way you avoid doing harm, most especially to yourself. 💡
