Especially as he instantly started thinking about photography of school children. His words, no one else's. Has he been previously convicted and has his employer checked? In my experience, knowing what to look for with investigations and during interviews, studying body language and words used, I would conduct checks to satisfy myself people had no hidden undisclosed past, or past under a different name.

I would be doing a full disclose and barring check. The police will contact his employer anyway as this incident has been logged. You need to contact them, make an official complaint, give the police log number and ask why they are employing someone that is willing to commit a serious indictable offence by making false accusations to a school, which would put you in danger of being attacked. He needs to be charged with the drone incident, attempt theft, assault and malicious communication.

Streetview in 2011 shows shrubs trimmed back and gate wall nicely whitewashed. From the road a public footpath continues in a straight line toward Camborne and sign at 18:39. Road then transiting to footpath at the location shown back to 1800s maps. The road is designated as footpath/bridleway and continues as footpath in the trees. Triangular shaped field on old maps. Just a word of caution when talking to the police (as everything is recorded) don't mention that the Drone Assist app is anything to do with the CAA as it's not. They may take that the wrong way. The CAA only mention it as an app to use but do NOT approve any of those apps at all so just using Drone Assist would not be a legal proof in a court of law. You're absolutely fine there I'm sure but just be careful of exactly what you state. Keep up the great videos though.

Loved seeing the weather site. Plenty of learning points from an auditing perspective in regards to interactions with him and police but nothing wrong with that it is quite flustering in the moment. Only comment I do want to say is that the balloon takeoff was a video opportunity and you missed it by coming in to land too early. Nice to see some different locations!

Besides the unlawful interference with a drone and pilot, knowing a drone is flying close to his site, if this person is going to launch a balloon he would (under his employer's duty of care) be reasonably expected to advise the drone pilot of a balloon launch timing and any other factors that would reduce any ariel conflict. His employer should be advised along with the CAA. _Duty of Care (towards persons not in their employ) - Section 3 of the Health and Safety at Work (etc) Act 1974_

The sign on the gate does say the the site comes under the Official Secrets Act, but I find this weird, the gate was wide open, however if it is under the official secrets act then perhaps photgraphing from the air via a drone may or may not be illegal, regardless of what the CAA say.

I would seriously have hoped someone working for the MET office would have known better. He needs reporting for interfering with the flight of an aircraft. It's up to a £5000 fine so would teach him a lesson or two!! That guy needs sacking. He's like a spoilt little child and to come out talking to a member of the public like that is utterly atrocious. You definitely should send the footage to the MET Office for them to see how rude he was. Also report him for saying you might be a pedophile and also send a subject access request for a copy of the photo he took of you as by law you're entitled to a copy of it due to him working for an organisation. If you mention that you'll be sending a subject access request for a copy and tell him not to delete the image and he does indeed delete it after you've told him that then he'll be in trouble for that too. I knew as soon as he turned back again that he was going to come and lock the gate. Probably realised he was in the wrong and thought he'd be able to keep the police out. He is an embarrassment to the MET Office and needs to be sacked. Please do report him to them and let us know how that goes.

I wasn't aware that site was a listed venue prohibiting photography under the Official Secrets Act. I believe the prohibited venues are very specific, not usually the whole site.

In the case of this KZbinr on the weather station, it would have been common sense to advise the land owner or representative of the land owner of intention to fly; that would normally be satisfactory. Common sense in the drone industry goes a long way in avoiding confrontation.

Met Office used to be part of MOD, so all locations were designated prohibited, even if all there was was a small shed with a hygrometer in it. Although it is now just a government agency under DBEIS, the designation was never removed.
