Hey Guys!
We had a snatch day, and wanted to show you how I generally will warm up. Whether it is snatch, or any workout, I will follow a lot of these same guidelines. Getting those small muscles firing is key!

I enjoy a slow jog, then cherry pickers, spider man stretch, broom handle shoulder stretch. Def going to try this warm up though. Thanks 👍

Great video!! Thanks for give the wealth of knowledge. At 3:34 in the video you are using resistance bands with handles. Do you recommend those? Can’t tell what brand they are. Could you give me some info?

Loved your warm up, thank you for showing us. Shane is amazing (and so are you :-) ) I have not used the crossover symmetry, my gym has it, so I'll put that in. My Oly Warmup is the Bergener warmup + passthroughs with the PVC and stretching in the bottom position for about two minutes.

thank you for further elaborating on the reasoning behind the crossover bands. as a swimmer it has really peaked my fascination and it is incredibly interesting to see how other athletes in a variety of different sports train/strengthen/stabilize/PT their shoulders. 🤙🏼❤️

I warmed up this morn with some wall balls. But generally I don’t warm up. I definitely need to start stretching more! My workout is Tia’s warm up!

For me..54 YO: 1) Start with about 10 min of jump rope to get warm. 2) Catalyst athletics warmup 3) Empty bar: start with snatch presses 4) Drop snatches.. a few..light weight 5) Muscle+Power snatches..several sets light weight 6) Then full snatches..Working sets.4-5 sets of no more than 2-3 reps until the bar velocity starts to fall off. Thats it

What about one arm dumbbell snatches? What is a good warm-up before starting those? Or can you use the one arm dumbbell snatches as a warm-up? As long as you are not trying to do a max lift as soon as you start.

Tia, how do you manage your weight increases on heavy snatch days? I struggle with 'big' increases (5kg jumps start to feel like a lot) but my 1RM is high enough now that taking small jumps has me doing a ton of reps before even getting to my working weight or PB attempt. Any thoughts/tips please?

You usually don't kill your whole body each day. And in a good plan rest in general should be incorporated and the coaches (should) consider how tired a certain muscle group is after some things, for example there were heavy squats on Monday, than the athlete shouldn' t to heavy squats or something too demanding for the legs the next day and maybe do something that's more about gymnastics or something like that. Plus a lot of food and sleep helps 😁
