As a nonbinary disabled person the rightwingers insults just make me laugh now. It's sad that most often ny cackling is someone trying to be "keyboard warriors". I steal their talking points and ask if they need a safe space or why they are obsessed with identity politics. They rarely reply.

Far right guy here. No one can be trans racial, however race is a spectrum and poorly defined. I'm biracial and neither race defines who I am on a personal level. If a person is trans, they are just another human being in my eyes. If they ask me to refer to them in the way they present, I'm happy to oblige. I believe in recognizing the dignity of others regardless of differences. I don't hate anyone, let alone groups of people. The Internet will internet, but I hope there are righties in your sphere you can exchange ideas with. Let the arguments fight, and let the best ideas win.

I've seen it discussed, positively, Kurt's rejection of gender norms, as well as his expression of gender apathy/feminine presentation at times. I do think he may have been some shade of trans. I think it's odd for people to get so up in arms about it, tbh. Conversations are had about potentially trans historical and prominent figures, especially in art, commonly in the circles I'm around. Especially the preciousness people handle Kurt Cobain with, specifically, because so many cis straight men like his music and get upset if you imply he might have been more queer than they knew. Whatever, not the point, I guess. I think it's sad that Josh has decided that he can't live authentically and that he has to make it a problem for everyone else. I hope he finds peace within himself to stop acting foolishly.
@elen58718 күн бұрын
yeah, i don't know if kurt _was_ trans, he's dead and he can't tell us. but i know if kurt was born later and alive today he probably _would_ be some shade of nonbinary, like uhhhh the only nonbinary person coming to mind right now is lil uzi vert, so yeah. like lil uzi vert. oh, or like jeff rosenstock. or the lead singer of the band of montreal. the same applies to a lot of rock stars who aren't alive anymore, a lot of those glam rock peeps were definitely trying to push the gender envelope as far as they could and it had to be for Reasons.
@dannabanana528 күн бұрын
I just think if Kurt was trans he definitely would’ve told us. We had trans people in the 90’s. I don’t see him not embracing that.
@elen58718 күн бұрын
@@dannabanana52 he had a hard enough time embracing his identity as a "rock star" or "famous person" or whatever, i can't imagine he would have an easy time coming to terms with something like that. also, like... i was struggling with addiction and that really got in the way of me coming out. i had to quit drinking for a bit and come to terms with myself before i could really figure out who i was/am. on top of that like... yeah trans people _existed_ in the 90s, but for the most part, we were a punch line. for example, in '92, when nirvana were hitting their peak, the big "trans" movie was "the crying game," where the main character dating a trans woman was basically treated at just a huge punchline. and don't get me _started_ on ace ventura: pet detective. that movie probably kept me in the closet for another 5 years. it wasn't really a friendly environment.
@dannabanana528 күн бұрын
@ his problem was never with people judging him, his problem was with everyone looking up to him. Idk, I was alive then, around the same age, and yes media was behind but I did know several people who were out back then. I was in the art world though where it was pretty accepted. I just don’t see him hiding that of all things. He was completely comfortable wearing dresses and talking about thinking at one point he was possibly gay. But he was just a kid, no telling what would’ve happened had he survived.

This is the most minor of infractions, but is guy not even understanding the premise of Fallout and disrespecting the games (in their glorious glitchiness) is the shit cherry on a huge turd cake. Again, my complaint doesn't hold a candle to the damage he wants to inflict on the Trans and Black communities with his stupid shenanigans but it goes to show that he doesn't understand how anything works.

As for the Lilly thing, it’s disrespectful to just say that someone is trans when they did not say so, coming from a transmasc person myself. This isn’t a cartoon character that you’re pushing your headcanons onto-this is a real life person who has a family that is still living today. His daughter even expressed dismay towards Lilly’s assumptions and Lilly is also contributing to the outing dilemma and sure he’s 💀 now but people still speculate about current celebs’ identities (Shawn Mendes) when it isn’t their business and it’s dangerous to do so if they are surrounded by certain people and they just might not be ready to come out yet (if ever). It’s just so annoying robbing someone of their voice and choice to come out. And sure, Lilly had a LOT of phobes coming at her due to various things but a lot of her content fr comes off as rage bait and tax write offs if I’m being honest, which is why people came for her to begin with… …Like, asking to speak to the manager for someone accidentally misgendering you and they even apologized for it and you’re trying to take away their job while you’re a rich (at least richer than THEM) social media influencer who gets paid to travel the world and eat whatever you want and write it off on your taxes…? Yeah… THAT’S why people can’t stand Lilly… ME included despite being 🏳️⚧️ myself… Also, “I don’t even have to transition!” *Cut to them literally in makeup and a dress and thus… socially transitioned…* LMAO 💀💀💀💀

I agree with almost all of the points you make in this video and I want to make it expressly clear that I do not in any way condone or respect misogynistic behavior online. I completely agree with your efforts in calling it out where you see and I’m happy that you’re trying to stand up for marginalized groups. That being said, there was no point in using absolutist language to describe how “all men” behave online when you yourself know that’s not how all men behave. Progressive people that use that rhetoric like that only show that they’re willing to engage in the same behavior that they claim to hate from bigots. It’s not acceptable to use it against marginalized groups, and it’s not acceptable to use it against non-marginalized groups. People are not monoliths, and it can hurt to be associated with negative behavior based on an immutable characteristic. Couch it in whatever disclaimer you think justifies it until the cows come home; you know it would not be acceptable if the situations were reversed. All it does is alienate people who are not part of the problem. You don’t have to target all men in order to effectively dunk on misogyny. Like I said, I think you’re doing a good thing and I am in now way making this comment as an attempt to invalidate your legitimately good points. As a man who wants to be accepting of all people, it’s just very frustrating when I see people who claim to be progressive circle around and make sweeping generalizations against ostensibly acceptable comments. Please do better and have a wonderful day.
