The inclusion of a trackplan makes a tremendous difference. So many layout videos are difficult to folow without one.

Beautiful to hear the pump going as well as all the other sound. Super, as ever!

Hello Ian - glad you liked it. Finding the sound files and adapting them to the video is by far the hardest bit!

The wheelbase is the same, 7'9"+7'6"+6'3". However, the E5 chassis is 9" longer than the E4, 3" extra at the front ( 6'3" vs 6'0") and 6" longer at the back (5'0" vs 4'6"). Your suggestion may be possible but you'd need to compare the outlines. My two E4s are Steyning kits with scratchbuilt chassis, and the E5 is scratchbuilt. I hope that helps?

Another excellent video demonstrating how a model of a railway is totally different from a model railway. Keep up the good work. Just a pity you chose the wrong company. Should have been the LSWR! Only joking 😊

Thank you - I think we'll have to disagree about which is the 'right' railway company!

At 02:38, it looks like the backlight blinder on the down platform starter's lamp has slipped on the pivot, as it doesn't move when the arm moves.

It moves at 1:16? Possibly it should be a bit higher. Nice to know somebody's looking at the real detail!

@@barryluck1625: BTW, did the E4 and E5 share the same wheelbase? I've been looking at the modern Finecast E5 chassis etch and wondering if it would be a worthwhile upgrade to the ancient one under the Stenning E4....

For the past six months I've been working on a series of videos of Pulborough, three so far with the final one sometime in June I hope. Search for 'This is Pulborough '. We're also working on a new layout Ouse Wharf. We'll hopefully be making another Plumpton video in the autumn.

The finest model I’ve seen in a long time! How long have you been working on Plumpton Green?

My son and I started working on the layout the day after I retired ten years ago. It was first exhibited in 2014 when it was 'complete' but not finished. We're still adding bits and pieces. You can read the story here: www.lbscrmodels.co.uk/pg1.html
